Kit for a beginner

Hi, what would be a decent kit for a beginner to buy? It would be my first real kit and I'm wondering what could be a good choice for like Clone Hero or Paradiddle on VR.
Anything decent, worth taking a look at and possible to use for any of those or maybe both Clone Hero and VR.
Thanks in advance!

Though they aren't the absolute best, I started with an Alesis Turbo Mesh Kit for about 250$ and used it for clone hero for several years and it was a perfect beginner kit. I do recommend trying to get a kit after about a year when you've decided you want to go with a little bit of a better kit, and get something with actual beaters and a kick tower, as it gives you a much better feel to play an actual kick drum, and helps so much with improving as a drummer. Let me know if you have any specific questions but as a beginner you can't go wrong with a 200$~ Alesis Turbo. You'll know if drumming is something you really wanna get into after 6 months to a year or so and then you'll wanna upgrade, just FYI

I'm currently only playing paradiddle on VR and trying to move to something responsive to feel the play. Thanks for the recommendation, I'll check it out

If you need help with setting anything up in clone hero and establishing library of songs and settings once you've gotten a drumset with MIDI output, feel free to DM me and we can get on a discord call or something! Welcome to the world of drumming bro 🤘🏻

Any kit with a kick tower and mesh pads. What you need for Clone Hero etc. is USB MIDI out and AFAIK all of the current kits on the market have that.

Best deals rn are Millenium MPS-750X (if you are not in the US) or Simmons Titan 50 B-EX (if you are in the US).

Or for an intermediate level kit, Yamaha DTX6 kits. (DTX6K-X, DTX6K2-X, DTX6K5-M)

Big buying guide with tips about accessories, etc.

I started on the Alesis Mesh kit that was around $250. It has a kick drum, a snare, 3 toms, 1 high hat, 1 crash and 1 ride.

Very basic and compact, but the module was where it really shined. It didn'tbehave tons of presets, but the ones that were installed were high quality and sounded great.

It's aux port only, not Bluetooth compatible. If that is a deal breaker, you would need to move up a kit and spend around $500.

Alesis nitro max. You can find them used for around $300.
