Progesterone intolerance

I started progesterone in cream 50 mg for 10 days. Since the very first date I cried for circumstances I used to manage well in the past. Each day was worst, but then, anxiety entered the room. ANXIETY. I chew a lot of T-shirts necklines these days, all the day. But what made me really worried about the P was the body pain. Each day was getting worst and it even felt like weakness at some point. Like if my body disconnected. I talked to my Dr and he said begin estrogen, give it time it will compensate. Two days later, with P and estrogen I decided to write again and told him I really have a progesterone intolerance ( I found information everywhere taking about the crying, the myalgia) and he agreed to stop the medication but now he’s asking for a psychiatric evaluation 🤡. Isn’t he the menopause specialist? I don’t know what to think. I cried. Women have to prove what they say to their doctors. Their symptoms. Now I don’t think he is that specialized if he doesn’t know about progesterone intolerance in woman.

TRT

My MD prescribes P and E but won't prescribe T so I source Cypionate 200 taking 6 mg every 10 days injectable. My bloods are high for the lab and my MDs comfort, 124 but in the fitness world some say it's ok? What kind of MD would help me or what company in the US please? My MD prescribed compounding which is once a day gel and I prefer not to go that route. I have no side effect other than some occasional acne and my hair is thinning but so didn't moms post meno. I am 65 and fit and get my protein and strength train. Ty All...

HRT for perimenopause stopped adhd meds from working

Really hoping to find some answers from women that have experienced this. And some community - because this has been a lonely journey so far.

I started cyclical progesterone (100mg) a month ago and estrodiol gel (2 pumps) 3 weeks ago. My ADHD meds have stopped working! I take Vyvanse (50) and I may as well be taking a sugar pill.

My brain feels like I am wading through marshmallow, I just can’t think straight and I’m really worried about my cognitive decline.

I’ve been told that my body is still adapting to estrogen and that it will take time to build up my levels and get the receptors constructed after they were blunted following 3 months on the nuvaring.

The progesterone makes the brain function even worse. This week I started my 2nd cycle of “15 days on” progesterone and the day after my dose I felt like I had a hangover. Could not sleep well either, and then exhausted, groggy and hungover the next day.

Apparently progesterone is an antagonist to dopamine too?

I’ve been reading up today on how potentially changing the delivery of progesterone up from oral to vaginal or rectal could help with the grogginess while still being effective for uterine lining?

Any experience out there? <3 thx

Blood tests 🩸- when best to test?

I’d like to take blood test results to my doc for my 1st HRT follow up since starting (it will be at 8-10 weeks). What day of my cycle would be the best day to get bloods done? (I am in peri and understand that blood tests are a snapshot in time that aren’t that helpful, but I’d like to get some insight anyway)

Insomnia with E or P?

Upped my E and feeling good but can’t fall asleep until 2am at best. It’s almost like it caused
my oral progesterone to act a little stimulating so I split my P….50mg at 4pm and 100 mg at 8pm and still can’t fall asleep. I can’t tell which one is doing it. Once I’m asleep I sleep through the night but just can’t fall asleep initially. Anyone else? On 1.8 mg E cypionate injections per week and 150mg P per day.

Anyone on just a low dose of estradiol and low dose of testosterone cream? New to all this!

I'm 49 and was just prescribed estradiol and testosterone. Both are low dose (E-0.025 patch and T- 1.25mg a day via compounded cream), but without progesterone (I don't have a uterus), I was wondering if I would end up with side effects from the T? My testosterone number was 29 ng/dl with a SBHG of 61. Many on this forum have been saying they have such low T that it is untraceable, but my number is in the "normal " range. I know that SBHG is tying up a lot of my T, but was hoping for others opinions on this matter. Really don't want to lose my hair, but was hoping for the benefits from the T. Hoping to to have more energy and kick start my libido again!

Am I missing estrogen?

43F perimeno
Hysterectomy this past June
Before hyst (and still now) taking Testosterone cream (for libido), Progesterone at night (for sleep), and vaginal estrogen for GSM.

The past couple of weeks I have felt completely unhinged. I am exhausted constantly despite sleeping well (I do wake up once around 1am but go back to sleep), my patience is hanging on by a thread, road rage is a new reality for me, I can’t control my thoughts (like I struggle to focus and words are hard) and my libido is non existent. My labs 10mths ago for all the non hormone things looked good (thyroid, iron, blood counts, vit d, etc)

Am I missing systemic estrogen? I went ahead and made an appt with midi (my regular doc cant get me in until dec 30 and i honestly dont think I will make it that long). Is estrogen patch/gel something I should bring up in this appt to help with this shit show I am feeling like 🤪

Thanks in advance for your help ❤️

Estradiol patch side effects - normal?

53y F

surgical menopause in 2022.

Tried patch for 2 mos in 2023, HRT pellets in 2024 for a year then stopped

Having headaches and pressure so got back on HRT with estradiol gel for a month and now patch for a month (2 weeks on 0.037 mg then upped to 0.05mg). I have extreme fatigue on days, emotional lows and head symptoms. I have been mostly unwell the last few days and have been resting. Are these debilitating symptoms expected side effects of patch? Should I be stepping down back to 0.037mg patch or stick it out and this is just adjustment? Want to get some advice before I call my doc. 3 years ago on patch I did not experience this.

Looking for insight re: Estradiol Cyp and Test Cyp injections transition from Patch and gel.

I could really use some input from those who are pinning Estradiol Cyp and Test Cyp.

for background 62f post menopause was on 1 mg 2x/week patch, 1mg per day divigel and 8mg per day compounded Test cream for 2 years. 200mg nightly Progesterone.

Switched to T injections about 4 weeks ago at 3.5mg Every other day. Have been doing what I thought was great! LOL. Then about 3 weeks ago added 1.5mg every 3.5 days of Estradiol Cypionate. was feeling some low Estradiol symptoms but did keep one of my patches on for about 7-10 days while I transitioned over fully to injections.

As I said everything has been as expected, rather uneventful, a couple of low energy days which I have attributed to the transition to a new delivery method. Have not tested levels yet, will do that in 2 weeks. levels prior to starting were great and I felt good. Total T was 135, Free T 7 Estradiol kind of high maybe? it was 150

Last night I had a hard energy crash post workout. Got a headache and felt really irritable and just "off". Went to bed slept good until about 2 am and woke up really wired but tired. Felt some Central nervous system activation like I was feeling a little "speedy" if you know that feeling. Had a hard time but finally got some more sleep in. Still this morning feeling wired but tired. Trying not to over think but wondering what the cause of this might be.

Any insight would be great. I don't feel many typical symptoms of low Estrogen right now. Thanks!
