Is it possible to craft mats like Smith. Kit 5 or am I missing something?

So I just unlocked the mission to fight Shadow Lord and I'm really struggling in the game. I see that some people reccomend being lvl 70 to fight him and I'm barely 50... So how do I level up fast? I'm getting kinda tired with just killing mobs in higher lvl locations. I did the RoV up to the current story part. I know that when I get lvl 50 I need to do the mission to increase the level cap. Is there something else I should do? Or just farm some mobs and do the lvl cap quest when I can and then repeat? I'm just a casual gamer and would appreciate every tip!

Also what trust can be useful for the fight? I have all that are currently in the login campaign.

Found this old picture from 2006 when I was leveling BST in Kuftal Tunnel. Good times. Hard to believe this was 20 years ago already.

When the update launched I had 1 major disconnection issue where it cut me off of the game and wasn't letting me back on.

Since then I've been able to play but I have been noticing I sometimes get stuck on the "Downloading data" blank screen going from the title screen to my characters and it takes more than 1 try to get on to get on with some characters.

Am I the only person this happens to? It is only at the title screen this happens at. Once my character logs in everything is fine and it has only been happening since this latest update.

So I installed a windows update a few nights ago and now when I try to launch the game with windower it just closes after the window is about to go fullscreen (borderless) . I can launch the game normally through playonline just fine. Anyone have any ideas what's going on?

Hey everyone! I've been working on a pretty big update to MuffinMetrics, bringing more of my FFXI tools together in one place.

Some highlights:

• 22 checklist categories to track your adventures, unlocks, and accomplishments.
• MMExport for Windower: import supported character progress and owned gear, with connections to the checklists, JSE and Ultimate Weapon trackers, and the optimizer.
• “Only use items I own” in the gear optimizer.
• Clearer damage and accuracy breakdowns, including magic hit rate and resist outcomes, so you can see why a gear change affects your expected damage.
• A customizable Brag Card to share your progress, jobs, weapons, and earned badges.
• Lots of UI cleanup and fixes throughout the site.

The tools are free to use, and the exporter is optional. Some progress still needs to be checked manually, and not every augment or mechanic is supported yet. I'm continuing to work through those gaps.

If you haven't visited in a while, I'd love for you to take another look. Feedback and bug reports help a ton, especially screenshots and the settings needed to reproduce something that looks off.

So I came across this YouTube video of a guy setting up a virtual PS2 Dev kit. This got me thinking, unless i'm wrong, wasn't the reason we couldn't really get anything tangibly new for FFXI because 1. the team was small, and 2. it required PS2 dev kits?

If that's that case, we have seen private servers for damn near 17 years now, with this being available to anyone, and the new improvements in Ai coding and decompiling that we have seen, are we on the precipice of getting a flood of maybe unofficial, but "new" FFXI content? I mean we already know there are major assets in the game that aren't being used. The extra city and zone around it, the chocobo forest etc. And like god I would kill for an expansion where we actually go back to the real Tavnazia and maybe take back the old city like it seemed like we were going to in the opening movie.

Just wondering what everyeones thoughts are. For long time fans I feel like this could be the start of an amazing time for us.

After hundreds and hundreds of hours, where my only experience with full inventories & drops has been "when you make room you'll receive it."

Every day I learn something new about this game. Some lessons are more painful than others!

I don't know where but I assume there's a list of all of them. I logged in, found the moogle, then got pulled away for the day. I saw I got a passive baby chocobo that sounds fun. No Shantotto II, but oh well.

I plan on maining a Paladin to 75, any trusts y'all would recommend I can get as a f2p player I didn't already get from this campaign? I hear good things about Shantotto obviously, but I guess she's not part of this campaign.

Getting my butt handed to me by rabbits aside, I've gone in relatively blind but the various NPCs have helped me out well with getting my barings. I'm unsure of where to get my first Black Magic spells though, maybe that's proof enough I should be using a guide lol. Otherwise, I am really happy I chose XI to be my first and I hope to spend more time with this game!

I've started a new linkshell on Fenrir server that's predominantly for EU/UK based players where members can forge smaller static groups for events and also take part in bigger LS events such as Dynamis-Divergence W3 clears. The LS is only 5 days old and we are currently growing nicely. At present, we are mostly social until we can grow in numbers by where bigger LS events can take place.

So I messed up and entered the command in game:

//config FrameRateDivisor 60

In an attempt to get framerate to 60 but it perpetually slowed the game to a crawl where I cannot pull up chat to try and fix with the proper command before the game boots me.

Is there a way to reset to whatever the default framerate is outside of the game before I start it up?

A while back, I stood up my own local FFXI server, mostly to revisit all the old-school quests and missions, actually watch the cutscenes instead of skipping through them while a party rushes ahead, and enjoy a little nostalgia. I've been documenting the journey along the way and have over 200 videos so far. Surprisingly, there is still a lot to do in-game that I havent done, and LandSandBoat (server code im using) still has tons of stuff that isnt implemented yet. But, I just want to take a break from missions and quests and do something a bit different.

Lately I have been working on a hunt system, kinda similar to VW but involving all our favorite NMs from back in the day.
So far basically I have a Hunt coordinator in the 3 starter cities to start the "hunt" - For example in Bastok you start the hunt, zone into South Gustaberg and it will immediately spawn Leaping Lizzy, Tococo, and Carnero in their normal locations (dont mind the screenshot is right at the entrance, its all a work in progress). I decided to avoid making this TOO big of an undertaking I stuck to lottery/timed pops and left out quest/vw/anything else. But anyway, they spawn at lv 119, have the same model but larger, same moves, 5x health (to be honest its still a bit easy so that could use some tweaking also), right now they have no drops as I really dont need low level drops (more on that later).

Once you kill all 3, you talk to the hunt coordinator who advances you to Tier 2, which will start the hunt in N. Gusta, then Tier 3 in Konschtat Highlands, and so on. Same deal with the other starter cities, then when you beat everything you can move onto a hunt coordinator in Jeuno and work from there. Eventually I want to implement fights against all classic lottery/timed/camp-able NMs around Vanadiel.

TL;DR; Im really looking for ideas on what could make it more interesting. Honestly romping through all the zones and having a fight against all the classic NMs was the original goal when I started this project, but one-shotting them got boring pretty quick. So harder fights, goals, rewards are the direction I am leaning. Really this is just for me, as a coding exercise and something fun to do in game, so rewards can be more fun/interesting rather than progression.

Restrictions: "Implement the VW system" is a bit of a bigger undertaking than I am ready for at the moment. This hunt system is actually pretty easy to implement, and though i'm a software dev, deciphering packets and coding all this stuff in lua (aside from gearswap files) are still pretty new to me, so I work with what LandSandBoat already provides for the most part. Also I want to stick to server side only for now. I cant create new items, new models, new monsters etc. I mean I can call Lizzy "Lizzy Prime" but as far as the game code goes she is still the same old Lizzy so I just kept the names as/is. But creating completely new things would require client side dat updates also and I'm not ready for that yet.

Hi! I made a mod for Final Fantasy 1 remaster to give it a bit of FFXI flair.

The original six jobs have been modified to emulate FFXI starter job - skills, equipment requirements and level curve.

At Bahamas cave, the upgrade emulates relic armor.

No real graphical changes were made yet, this is just version 1. Its a bit lanky tbh. You will have to buy skills at a shop (0 gil) and I haven't tested all of the skills just yet.

Tested and developed using the Xbox pc version of the game. Should work on steam versions as well.

I am new-ish to XI and wondering if there was any trusts/cipher from login Campaign that are must grabs.
I already have Shantotto II, King of Hearts as well the ones given from doing the few small quests at the start of the game.

I’m thinking about taking clothcraft to 100 so I can make ebon/ebur/furia gear and I’m currently lvl2. None of the guides mention then kits they sell at the guild though, are these viable?

Looking for any advice, thanks!
