Andrew is the voice of Hien and even sounds the same in the film. I've seen love for other ffxiv voice actors in the past, so I wanted to share this information to those who may not know.
::EDIT:: This post is about Andrew Koji, not schulz. Idgaf, that schulz is in it. Direct your outrage elsewhere. I never see anyone commenting on the racism in this sub. But because I do, I suddenly see people trying to convince me that it's all tainted that schulz is in it like he has any power. The good outweighs the bad here. I'm not trying to convince you to watch it. Don't watch it. This is about supporting Koji. If you can't do that, then there's no reason to talk about someone else.

Mine is the Edenmorn Gunblade, it's so pretty! And I love the flower details, and how it looks more delicate and elegant than most gunblades. I'm still on EW but yesterday I saw someone with a glowing version, then looked it up and found out about Ultimate Edenmorn Gunblade, and I can't wait to get it!
I usually main WHM so I'm a fan of flowery aesthetics, so I was hyped when I got this one while grinding for the Edenmorn Cane (which is also gorgeous btw!).

Pretty cool books. If you really enjoy the lore and just want a consolidated book with tidbits on everything, these may be of interest to you!
Books 1-3 cover ARR-EndWalker. Nothing for Dawntrail yet, so that’ll be in book 4 whenever it happens. The question becomes whether or not they’re waiting longer so they can included Evercold content as well.

I really like her, so I drew her again!
New Sprout here, I finished HW and decided that I had enough fun with it that I thought I'd try to celebrate by getting my Anima weapon. It's very pretty! I thought I'd stop part way because the final form's glowing wings didn't look as good in the example pics in saw online, but I'm happy I did. The wings look very neat animated and glowy in dark areas and I didn't realize until afterwards that it actually matches my WoLs ears pretty closely in color and shape. It took me me... About three weeks I'd say? And this is supposed to be one of the easier ones?! Idk how many more relics I'll go for if that's the case XD
It was overall fun, I like the story about creating the Anima itself, and now I have essentially a daughter now I guess? I suppose I know what my permanent minion is for my WHM now!

Hi hi!
A friend o’ mine’s birthday is tomorrow and I wanted to surprise him with two things that he loves: JoJo (specifically part 5) and his Final Fantasy character, Imorie Gestalt!
I found a good reference amongst Giorno’s various poses and decided to get to work. I sent it off to him earlier today and he absolutely loved it! Imorie,if you’re also in the FFXIV Reddit community, cheers to another happy birthday, broski! 🎂
Oh, and he is also the person that finally convinced me to play FFXIV! Thanks for the new obsession and therapeutic game!
(Post includes final piece, a few WIPs, Imorie himself, and Giorno’s pose)

Context: First-time player, playing mainly White Mage on Nintendo Switch 2 via the Free Trial.
It took me 89 hours to beat A Realm Reborn and the storyline up until the next expansion. I watched all cutscenes, unlocked every normal and hard dungeon I could find and finished each at least once. I did a few roulettes, mostly for gear.
Other than that, I basically followed the main story and ignored the side stuff.
Just so new players know: Yes, the base game is LONG.
For a game this old, I was positively surprised. It’s obviously old, but it has aged rather nicely. I don’t know how much of a graphical overhaul the game has received over the years, but I daresay: I like it.
I had no issues on Switch 2. Minimal framerate drops in the 24-player Alliance Raids, but other than that? No issues at all.
Solid port.
Don’t expect 60 FPS, though. I found it better to cap it at 30 FPS; it runs smoother that way.
Just amazing.
Elaborate pieces, fitting, diverse, memorable. Really love the music.
Without spoilers, expect a slow-burning political story rather than nonstop action.
The story is very interesting, but given the setup, I would assume this first game is largely building up what comes afterwards.
Having said that, the actual plot, especially the finale, was well written.
Not “OMG BEST THING EVER”, but more:
Very nice. Good buildup. Let’s see if you can deliver.
But: It’s slow. Just setting expectations.
Also, heads up: You will read. A lot.
Just saying.
Easy game, very chill.
This obviously depends on preference.
Dungeon difficulty depends on the group, obviously. There is much harder optional content, I have been told, but I haven’t played it, so I can’t judge that.
Yes, this is an old-school MMO.
You have the Trinity, the classes/jobs, dungeons, raids, populated cities, etc.
I love it.
Games like these aren’t really made anymore. It’s basically a dinosaur from a golden age of MMOs.
You have a lot of jobs (classes, basically) to pick from.
I can’t tell you how distinct all of them are, having only really played White Mage and Samurai, but I’d say there is something for everybody.
I especially love that healers are expected to provide substantial damage instead of just healing nonstop.
Cool.
Good length, generally not much waiting time, and old content is still being played because the game gives people incentives to run it.
Excellent MMO feeling.
Very nice people, I must say.
The world is populated enough to actually give you that feeling of an MMO world. People everywhere, Bards giving real-life concerts in cities, etc.
Well, it’s basically silly.
You get the full game I just played AND additional expansions on top for €0.
Zero.
No time restrictions.
There are limitations: no private messages, no player market and a currency cap of 300k gil that you WILL reach.
No big deal thus far for me.
For free? The amount of content is frankly absurd.
Oh my.
While the actual story is good, like I said, the way it’s presented to the player is atrocious most of the time.
First of all, there is a substantial amount of useless filler. One can argue it’s for worldbuilding, okay, but still.
More importantly, your average main-story quest goes something like this:
Go somewhere.
Talk to NPC 1.
Return to NPC 2 to tell him you talked to NPC 1.
Three enemies appear.
Kill them with no effort.
Return to NPC 2.
Now return to your base to tell your boss you talked to both.
More text.
Next mission: Go to NPC and talk…
I am not even exaggerating here for effect. Most of the time it’s exactly as I stated.
I genuinely don’t understand why they didn’t just make longer story cutscenes like they do during the big finales.
Because I would rather watch 45 minutes of cutscene and story than have 45 minutes of “gameplay” consisting of teleporting somewhere, running to an NPC, clicking on them, reading dialogue, teleporting back, clicking another NPC…
Seriously.
This is easily my biggest criticism of the game.
Very basic. Very braindead.
The actual gameplay is rather simple, the rotations are easy and while you get a lot of skills, you don’t really need to make good use of most of them during normal solo content.
Don’t play this if you want engaging or challenging solo combat.
Good old-school MMO, good worldbuilding, good story, good multiplayer content.
It’s a slow-burning, political affair with very chill gameplay.
The vast majority of the experience is basically:
Visual novel with running around.
Cutscene. Reading. Running. More reading.
You get dungeons, raids and other multiplayer content in between, but if you can’t be bothered with reading and story, don’t bother. I really don’t think this is the game for you.
Otherwise?
8/10.
Very interested to see how it continues.

So earlier I did toto-rak dungeon and the cutscene at the last boss took a bit longer than usual and when I finished it the boss was already dead because the party got tired of waiting. Never had an issue before but I've also mostly done the dungeons with a few guildies so that probably helped.
Unrelated but I'm having a blast playing paladin, I'm glad everyone here told me it wasn't hard to tank when I asked about it a bit ago

Hello everyone! A fairly new sprout here.
Currently in the post-ARR bit and have recently focused on leveling Dragoon, because I've heard its questline ties into Heavensward MSQ. Also heard somewhat similar things about Ninja and Monk with Stormblood.
That got me thinking. Are there any other jobs like that? Ones you can level to get more story/lore/context, etc. for later MSQ stuff or is it just these three?

For me it was getting all current Kinna Weapons (I know 2 more will come next year once EC drops) but getting all the ones available now was my favorite thing I have done so far , they are look great.

Hello!
Long time lurker here, first time poster. Relatively new to FFXIV, only in Shadowbringers at the moment. Chaos Data Centre and proud sprout at the moment. Wearing my little leaves with pride. I’m also a disabled gamer, so I particularly like the sprout thing because it means people realise I might accidentally stand in the danger queso sometimes (what I call the orange pools etc).
Love the PVE content, love the option to take my time, learn my rotation and do things like crafting.
I had my first super negative experience today, during Frontline, and could do with some advice — I was using my PS5 controller and trying to get to grips with a new class and skills. I’ve only just recently started doing it, and obviously the skills are different from our PVE ones.
I was on the first level of battle high, and this person (who I’ve now found is maxed on everything) turned around and asked me why I was still on 20 battle high, and then specifically stayed around at the end of the round to say “xxx dmg” then left.
I get that I wasn’t great, but looking at the others in the alliance, I wasn’t the lowest — not by a long shot. Yes, I was the lowest in the party this person was also in, but I’m also a sprout and entirely a PVP newbie.
So my question is this, what can I do to improve? The training dummies don’t help too much, and I’ve read all the skill descriptions for the class I was trying to do.
Had I been super new to the game, this experience would’ve put me off playing. Unconstructive feedback really doesn’t help people get better. However, I love this game and I’m now motivated to improve. So I’m asking the epic people of FFXIV Reddit, what’s helped you improve in Frontline?
I've been playing ffxiv for a while. Got 733 hours in and made it to Heavensward Expansion.
I'm looking for Sprouts just like me to tag along and play together at our own pace.
My knowledge of the lore, mechanics and or even community cultures are very low.
Figured I try my luck here in hopes of finding people who wants to experience the game in a more casual setting and someone to chat to during long quests or just enjoying the scenery around.
I'm on Mataus, I'm originally from the Europe Data center that started out there after learning the legacy or Belmung (Partially) when I first join ffxiv.

I saw that 5 days ago they were having these issues but they got resolved. It won't allow me to login, it says a connection error has occurred and try again later. I was just wondering if other PS5 users were still having that issue where you have to attempt logging in over and over to access the game?

I recently got into Final Fantasy in general with the FF7 remakes and FFXV so I thought I would try out the MMO. I see I just missed a FFXV event but there is one for FF7 coming up with Tifa and Barrett outfits and a raid.
I’m sure the raid stuff comes later but I have no idea about anything in the game. Is it possible for me to participate and acquire some of the gear if I just started the other day?
