Throw in the washing machine

Whatever happen was bound to happen

The strong cloths survive, the weak do not

And I dont need weak cloths

Throw everything in, set to cold, hit go. Don't use dryer sheets with towels. Those are about the only rules I follow.

Or just don’t even use dryer sheets at all and simplify it even more! I don’t think I’ve ever thought “man these clothes aren’t soft enough”.

I used them to deal with the static mainly.

Wait, why no dryer sheets with towels?

Dryer sheets leave a waxy coating on your clothes. Which is fine for clothes. But for towels, it inhibits their ability to absorb moisture, which is the whole point of a towel. The more you know! 🌈🌟

Thank you. I never knew this before

I didn't for a while either. You'll notice a difference almost immediately. Also, treat yourself and get some nice towels. I have a bunch of cheap old ones in the linen closet and 4 that were kind of pricy that I keep in my usual rotation, but totally worth it. Not much better than a nice, clean, fluffy towel after a hot shower.

Thanks. Nothing better than a fluffy towel after a shower absolutely.

Same with fabric softener!!! Fabric softener has plastics that coat the fibres and yes it makes them soft but it decreases absorbency!

I’ll be honest I’ve never known what dryer sheets even are (they aren’t a thing here) and looks like it’s literally fabric softener in a sheet??

Kind of!! It’s mainly to reduce static and makes things less likely to catch lint and things !

This is largely generational. 35+ years ago, clothes were totally different. Lots of garments needed to be ironed, but others couldn’t be. Way more items were dry clean only. Way more items were hand wash only. Way more items were lay-flat dry only. Dyes ran more. Clothes were more susceptible to shrinking. Formal wear was much more common in work settings. And clothes were also just way more expensive.
