Reminds me of when HR handed out branded coffee travel mugs to staff. When I went in for mine she asked, "Do you want a left handed or right handed one?" I stared at her waiting for the punchline. She just raised an eyebrow and waved a mug in each hand. I said, "I'd like the ambidextrous mug, please." She chuckled, handed me a mug and told me everyone else, so far, had picked a left or a right.
To be fair, as a lefty I've been handed some porcelain cups that were actively hostile to me (especially the ones with the twisted hanks), but fortunate y I've yet to encounter that in travel mugs.
One could also argue that if the mug was branded only on one side, the handle placement could determine whether it was for a lefty or righty. If the intent was for the logo to always face outward.
This travel mug was branded on both sides. It didn't matter at all which hand you used to hold it.
