It’s the year 2026, GeeGees skipping meals while uOttawa has over $15 million in excess for the year, and generated over $300 million plus in the past decade
Everything is fine

Yep… very, very sad.
Not to mention that many of said students skipping meals are also in dept, and will be in dept for years after graduation.

Greed, but am realising the more you grow up the more you realise no one will come to save you not the school not the government but yourself :(

Aweee please don’t do that.
Just remember there are still somewhat affordable options at grocery stores. I find Walmart, Costco, No Frills have the best deals in Ottawa.
- ground meats
- pasta/rice
- canned tuna
- canned legumes
- eggs
- cereal
- oatmeal
- milk
- frozen veggies
- sauces
- basic spices can last a while too
- bread
- ham
- butter
- apples
- mandarins
- bananas
- granola bars
If you’re really low on cash, try visiting the campus food bank. I’m sure they can help you
If you haven’t tried it yet, Too Good To Go can be a lifesaver. It’s an app where grocery stores, bakeries, and restaurants sell leftover food super cheap at the end of the day. I’ve gotten $15–$20 worth of stuff for like $4–$6. Might help stretch things a bit.

Pro tip : buy a big bag of oats and rice by itself, canned food and frozen veggies or/and fruits.
Also, download an app to see weekly flyers (like Flipp) to take advantage of sales or browse the website of grocery stores to generally compare prices, and don’t hesitate to travel by bus/train to a cheaper grocery store when you can since transportation is free when you tap your student ID

Not sure I’m pretty sure it just removes tax’s so maybe 13% but any little bit helps

Also start collecting optimum cause we also get extra points and after a while you get enough to buy something

I genuinely average 1 actual full meal a day. Keep snacks in your bag, drink enough water, and get enough nutrients and you should be good

I never eat breakfast, but that is more because I wake up immediately before I need to leave for work at 5am.

yeahh all the time. everything super expensive. and not enough time to make food let alone buy ingredients. everyday is js a figure it out type day... coffee in the morning and anything at the end of the day does the job

yeah. i commute to school so sometimes i'll have breakfast if i get up early enough, once i'm at school i'm at school and not going back till dinner time. so sometimes i don't eat anything until dinner cuz i'm not paying to get food at rideau or anywhere on campus. it's def not healthy but it is what it is tbh😠i just make sure i have snacks

I dont. I get all of my groceries for the month for about 180$, give or take 10$, and I get in 2200 calories per day. However, I eat the same thing for every meal, everyday, but its worth it to save money and to be able to afford 3 meals a day.
