anyone wants to be friends?
I am doing an bachelor's degree :') and just moved to the city from out of town and honestly, I would love to make some friends. I have like no friends here, and I am basically a mole rat. I'm introverted, high school friendships have faded over time, and making meaningful friendships in uni is SO MUCH HARDER than I expected. We try, but sometimes things just don't work out, yk?
And honestly, the uncertainty of my future right now, and I'm trying to get my life together, having something throw me off, and then somehow ending up back at square one. Rinse and repeat hahahaha T_T
If you relate, then you probably know how fucking difficult it can be to get even the simplest tasks done when your brain just refuses to cooperate. I'm so tired of constantly having to pick myself back up and start again, but I'm also not ready to give up on myself or the things I want to achieve.
SOOO, DOES ANYONE WANNA BE FRIENDS? 😭🫶
If you're also a struggling uni student, an introvert, a chronic overthinker, or just someone who's trying to figure life out while secretly fighting for their life every day, LET'S BE FRIENDS!! We don't even have to have everything in common. I'd just love to meet people who understand what it's like to be a little lost sometimes.
We can yap about our lives, rant about uni, share our little wins, motivate each other, and maybe even become accountability buddies who help each other stay on track. We can check in on each other, celebrate getting the smallest tasks done, and remind each other that we're not completely failing at life HAHAHA.
I'm not looking for perfect, super productive people who have their entire lives figured out. I'm just looking for genuine friendships with people who want to grow together, support each other, and make this whole figuring-life-out thing feel a little less lonely.
So yeah, if any of this resonates with you, or if you're also looking for a friend, PLEASE DON'T BE SHY AND SAY HI!! My DMs are open. 🥹💕

If you're looking to make friends, consider volunteering! I was in the same boat, I'm really introverted and was feeling lonely but also kind of without purpose in my life. So I started volunteering and it made such a difference. I made lifelong friends and it gave my life meaning, to help the less fortunate. You could volunteer with the humane society, help dogs/cats in needs, or the manatee rehabilitation center, and help them, the gentle 'sea cow'

Where to volunteer? Is there a sign-up sheet?

Check out the website of the organizations you're interested in. Example: https://savethemanatee.org/how-to-help/volunteer/

there's also volunteer ottawa, which is a volunteer job board, and uottawa also has its own volunteer job board for students iirc (mostly to allow clubs to track volunteer hours but there are occasionally some campus orgs that actually need volunteers)

Honestly sounds fun! I just finished my degree, but if you'd still be down to be friends? I would LOVE to know the story behind the "Sea Industry" username. Is it related to your field or just a hobby?

Try joining some campus clubs based on interests you have. I joined the Ottawa Swing Dance Society and it totally gave me an amazing social network as well as taught me to dance. ❤️ It's great for introverts too, because you can have a social interaction with another human without having to talk. And when people grab food afterwards, you've already built a bond over the physical connection.
Either that or maybe some activism clubs would be more your style. When you make a connection with someone over a shared passion or mission, friendship naturally tends to follow.
