Spectrum went out in the middle of the night and is still out here (Lincoln & Colorado). They say it’s due to high winds, but seems pretty calm outside. Anyone else that experienced this have theirs come back on yet or not go out at all in the area?

Is anyone else in the Verdugo Woodlands area experiencing frequent power outages lately?
We've had our power go out at least 4 times over the past couple of months and it goes out for like half the day every time.
Does anyone know what's going on? Curious if anyone has gotten an explanation from GWP. It's getting pretty frustrating at this point.

Hey yall!! My buddies and I decided to start a Magic the Gathering social club by the name of "The Sanctuary" based in LA. We're hosting FREE biweekly events/ meet ups at local bars & breweries. Our event this week will be hosted at 6PM this Sunday (10/18) at 'HoneyBird' in La Canada Flintridge. This is our first time in that area and we're excited to hopefully see some new faces! :) Everyone is warmly welcomed to attend regardless of power level & experience!
Please follow us on our Instagram (SanctuaryMtg) as we post all our events there & feel free to message our IG for any questions. We have multiple tables reserved for multiple pods. Hope to see yall there!! 😁😁😁

Hello everyone! I’m new to the area and I’d like recommendations on what gyms to join and try. The only amenity I know I really really want is a sauna. Also want classes offered (preferably Pilates and/or kickboxing but it’s fine if they don’t have them, I can use class pass or something). I was thinking about EOS in the galleria but I’ve heard mixed reviews. Any insight on that? TIA!

This is why your water utility rates are going up. To do required maintenance and prevent shit like this from happening.

Piane was crossing the street on San Fernando Road near West Harvard when he was struck by a sedan, according to the Glendale Police Department.
We are beyond overdue for traffic safety reforms. Enough is enough.

Hi there,
My daughter’s cockatiel got out last Thursday and she got a report that someone hears a cockatiel flying overhead. If you happen to hear one in your area please contact the number on the flyer. Please spread the word. She has had hwr bird since 2016.

Not sure if anyone has received their property tax bill yet, but someone online mentioned theirs went up. I checked LA County Tax Collector and mine jumped almost 7% from last year. Someone said that sewer tax was now included? Wondering if anyone else saw the increase and could pinpoint why it went up since I threw away my last year’s property bill statement? Thanks in advance.

I just saw two bears at about 10:35pm, one a bit smaller than the other, just walking alongside a street in the Verdugo Woodlands area. I saw them on Opechee Way and they were just going house to house.

Massive line of trucks on Broadway and a bit of Adams. It looks like they're filming in a Notary/Shipping store. Anyone know what movie or TV show it is?

The Glendale City Council is planning to INCREASE GWP water rates by 50% to 145% starting January 2027, with additional hikes for four more years — all so CURRENT RESIDENTS can pay to update the infrastructure that a MASSIVE influx of high-density development would need. Download and sign the petition to stop it!!
Edit: our infrastructure is much more advanced than ladwp. In addition 20 million a year is transferred from gwp profits to the city general fund for unrestricted use. This is illegal and the gwp should be using these funds not shifting them to general

So I’ve been living in Glendale for less than a year now. And I know the dates I usually receive my GWP bill. But it’s nearly been nearly 2 weeks since the normal date when the bill comes in. (Portal & email).
Just called the customer service line and was told it should be sent out today. But there are no notes as to why there was such a big delay. The info they did have was that my meter was read on sept 16th, but that’s it. Only thing GWP customer service could come up with is that “billing is behind”.
Anyone deal with this before? Is this normal? My anxiety has been killing me waiting for this bill. Was getting worried something happened to my account.

So, i live in Sherman oaks, but work in El Sereno and on my drive back home on the 134, looking over the freeway and seeing Eagle Rock all the way to downtown at night is spectacular. Now, I've very much wanted to drive up to this spot in Glenoaks Canyon, and go up those stairs to access the trail to watch the city at night.
However, the "private property" signs are concerning, not because I'm gonna trespass in peoples yards, but from my teen years i've dealt with pissy pants land owners when going to places like these around Burbank or Tarzana at night.
Looking at parcel data on the county's assesor website, the trail technically is private property, but it's unimproved, vacant lots all because Valle Vista Drive West is a closed off fire/hiking trail. Everyone who has some land knoladge about LA knows that ther are tons of hills (Like elephant hill) that are undeveloped because of terrain complexity, and paper streets that exist, but not IRL.
Image 2 shows the circled parts of the parcels on the trail that are technically private property, but is unimproved land.
I just don't want to be harassed if i go to check this place out.
tl:dr, If I park on Valle Vista, walk up the obvious wooden stairs, stay on the established trail, and don't enter anyone's yard, am I likely to have some homeowner come out screaming at me? I go hiking pretty frequently and even on Los Angeles City maintained trails in Porter Ranch, i've had issues with home owners
Yes I know doing this at night makes it so much messier
