Anyone got any tips on what order to read these in? I ordered them faster than I could read them and now I have to choose which one to start with. Thought maybe someone could share their preferred order (if any).
Thanks :)

I have a problem.
I was raised in a very traditional family and have spent my life just following suite. This is partly because my parents are controlling and see me as a their little me. I was very docile and just did what they said. They also refuse to believe in young people have mental health issues and don’t really take me seriously if I oppose them. They obviously have given me a fair share of trauma and feeling unheard. On top of this, I go to a military college where it only gets more conventional. I have spent my whole life wanting more; I look at other people my age who dress alt and have grungy interests. I absolutely adore them but have no idea where to start. I don’t like the same movies, music or tv shows as those around me. I feel like I have so much potential for style/decoration as well as a love for certain media/music but as if I cant communicate it because I don’t know how or who to talk to. I feel like I’m drowning as there is NO ONE who understands. This also plays into my politics and ideas on gender roles. I see myself as very open minded but I get crucified for expressing that. This has affected my ability to find something I’m good at or make friends I can relate with.
People who broke from tradition and found their own style. People who ignored older generations complaining and embraced being exactly who you want to be. How did you do it? I’m specifically asking Gen Z 20s but am open to any advice. Also, where do you shop for affordable stylish clothing😝
Thank you and have a great day!

Found this on Pinterest after a friend last minute invited me to a Halloween singles event tonight. I haven’t dressed up for Halloween in many years and then this seemed like a great idea.
My worry is I’m not sure anyone will understand the reference. but, I suppose if they do get it that could be a good talking point?
I dunno but I only have several hours to come up with something and I already bought the Alice in wonderland costume at spirit Halloween I just need to find chains somewhere but where ?? oh and I have black hair and didn’t want to get a blonde wig.
edit- I’m 21 so I don’t really expect my age to get it, but I’m not going for men my age here

Hey everyone!
I'm a beginner guitarist and producer working on an original grunge/alternative rock project. I recently made a demo called “Paper Eyes”, and I'd love to hear your honest opinions before I take the project any further.
The song has a dark, slightly surreal atmosphere, inspired by 90s grunge and alternative rock. I'm still learning about recording and production, so I'm open to constructive criticism.
I'd especially like to know:
I'm thinking about developing this into a bigger project with original songs and its own visual identity, but first I want to know what people think of the music itself.
Thanks for listening! Any honest feedback is appreciated. 🤘

So obviously I've listened to Nirvana. I also listened to Soundgarden but i literally can't name any song title besides Blackhole Sun even though I listened to them a few times already... I really love their sound and so far I think they're an amazing band.
My favorite artist is definitely David Bowie if it helps in any way but honestly I'm willing to give everything a try.
Any album, band I should listen to or preformances/concerts I should watch?

it’s called Nothing Ever Happened and it’s based on my experiences with trauma, abuse, mental health issues and addiction. It’s not exactly classic 90s grunge, the idea was to try to see what grunge would have evolved into. We were listening/referring to Down on the Upside a lot while writing and recording, so that kind of aftermath feeling permeates the album throughout. let me know what you think

Hey everyone!
I'm making grunge music inspired by the raw sound of '90s grunge alternative rock, especially Nirvana.
The lyrics are in Turkish, but the music has that grungy, distorted guitar sound and underground atmosphere I love.
I'd be curious to hear what you think of the music, even if you don't understand the lyrics! you will feel the soul ....
Here's my song: https://youtu.be/KblX6evZzCA?si=SwcfXivrJT-0LomZ
Thanks for giving it a listen! 🤘

Our debut album "The Scapegoat's Agony" turned 30 last November so we are giving away some free codes to celebrate this anniversary just a little bit longer🙂:
https://comabeach.bandcamp.com/album/the-scapegoats-agony
The album title "The Scapegoat's Agony" is an allusion to the play "Waiting for Godot" by Irish playwright and novelist Samuel Beckett and points towards the – for the most part – painful and excruciating emotional odyssey of the unnamed antihero.
Our musical influences range from Sex Pistols, Ramones, Hüsker Dü, Joy Division, The Cure, The Jesus and Mary Chain to Guns N' Roses, Therapy? and Bad Religion, with our songs frequently straddling the line between punk rock and alternative rock.

I sought this out tonight. I don’t know why but I just needed to watch the MTV unplugged out of the blue. Actually I wouldn’t say totally out of the blue as I had been listening to music for a few hours. But I didn’t plan on getting into this. I LOVE a handful of Nirvana songs and all of my favorite bands are influenced by Kurt. That being said I’m pretty naive when it comes to Nirvana as a whole. Which is why I think you may appreciate my observation.
Not only do I appreciate the music he created, but as a human psyche and a true crime junkie I happen to also be interested in his death. Having watched several of the songs from this set dozens of times over the years I still have not watched the whole recording. I was not exposed to Kurt’s mannerisms. I’ve only known Kurt from the start of a song to the end. And I just got to within the first 11 minutes and Hooo boy did I notice he was whacked out before this set.
As an alcoholic I know the slurring all too well. You end a word but the rest of it keeps on going. You think about how to start saying it so much to not seem wasted you forget how it ends and it smashes into a barrier. Inebriation can take multiple forms and severities. For example I can drink a 26 of alcohol in a comfortable setting but I feel like I can’t operate at all after having 3 drinks after work with my colleagues at a bar.
Kurt never wanted his songs to be a popular thing and he can’t cope with it. He has to get high as hell to play them to a crowd. He’s completely uncomfortable in his own skin.
The fact that he can be higher than giraffe pussy and feel comfortable playing this live on set is a testament to how high he must have been ALL OF THE TIME. The guy is an anxious wreck with no self worth and is completely uncertain of who he is in the mirror. Couple that with having a daughter and it’ll turn your life upside down. He was completely alienated yet in his own head yet oh so popular and handsome and “successful.” He didn’t commit suicide because he couldn’t handle who he was not; he took himself out because he had no idea who he was.
He would have been fine being a recluse making music for himself. And he should have continued to just do that. He wasn’t uncomfortable with fame and demands and he was unable to live without knowing who he was and couldn’t fake that any longer.
If this is common knowledge my apologies. Just have to write stuff down sometimes.
EDIT: GUYS/GIRLS. I literally only wanted to share something I observed as a person with an addiction history and a career caring for people due to my empathy (which is sometimes detrimental). I by no means meant to insult Kurt Cobain or all of you that adore him and his music. I really tried to convey my humility and nuance in my first post but it just didn’t land. Please for the love of god don’t take it too seriously and like I’m grading his legacy and musicianship. I truly watched most of the mtv unplugged vids as singles online from the start to the end. What I did not EVER see which most people likely have is the entire thing start to finish multiple times and seeing his mannerisms in between songs. That’s literally it. Sure it could be called a “new vibe” but I’m 37 years old and heard all of these songs just as long as you all have.
I moved on from Nirvana BEFORE I really got into them. As a dad with 2 kids and a lot of life experience I just thought you would appreciate my 2 cents and that’s literally all.
I did NOT mean to make it seem like some polarizing take. I just maybe thought I saw some cracks in the surface that may have been overseen. I just wanted to he friends with you all and that’s it.
