Jerry is my 3-months old Roborovski Dwarf Hamster, I’ve only had him for about a month now and I think I’ve successfully tamed him, he would always come out of his hide and seem to ask for some body rubs whenever I check up on him before I go to sleep 🥰

Such a cutie! He’s my first hamster btw, so feel free to let me know if I’m petting him wrong 💭

Not my hammy, took a pic at a pet store. Looks like little gremlin paws haha.

Vague title, but how does one deal with their hamster aging? I don't mean mentally, but what are some things I can do for him? He's a white dwarf hamster that I've had for over a year now, but he had an owner before me so I would assume he's around 2-ish. He doesn't run around like he used to and sort of hobbles, and seems a lot scrawnier despite being fed the same. I'm going to try and get him checked to be sure there's no issues besides old age because of his walking, but in general he just seems old. Anything I can do to make his life easier?

Going to bring my new girl Syrian hamster 😁.need some names suggestions🥹

He was thrown out in this cage to the side of the road, and I couldn’t leave him. So I guess I am a Mom now.
A bigger enclosure is on the way for him, and a big wheel for his little round body to get in shape and not look exactly like a Christmas orb.

Have a nice day everyone! :)

From nibby 😊

!! All pulp was removed and inside cleaned :)

my 7 month old syrian hamster. her name is zero and she took a selfie while eating from her bowl. she is my friend

This is my little baby, Cujo.

UK Hamster Owner’s Perceptions of Euthanasia and Veterinary Care  – Fill out form

Hello lovely people! My name is Verity I am a 3rd Year Veterinary Medicine Student at the University of Liverpool. I have a massive passion for anything small and fluffy, especially hamsters. Hamsters are CRIMINALLY under researched, as I am sure you are aware they often present to the vets/pass away for unknown reasons and that is somehow accepted? Well I want to change that.

The combination of this survey and my previous research I undertook over the summer analysing consultation data, I am hoping will give new insight into hamster health and welfare.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if you have EVER owned a hamster (alive or not) take the time to fill this in. It only takes 5-10 minutes and I will love you forever (and so will the hamsters). You have to be 18+ and live in the UK, the survey is linked above.

THANK YOU SO SO MUCH xx

If anyone saw my previous post, here's the update! I mustered up enough motivation today to add the huge bag of bedding I bought. When I get my paycheck I'm for sure getting her more hides and some sprays. She immediately burrowed into it when I put her in there. All the bedding is squished down! I'm so excited to get even more things for her!!

Everyone meet clementine! Just got her today and shes already settling nicely! Im already so in love! 🍊💕

Georgie dreaming about running on his wheel probably

Here’s my hamster cage setup! So so proud of it! I’m really proud of how the sprays turned out they came in really flat and disgusting so I ordered new ones. 🫶🏻💗
