Gaming I hate racing games that intentionally nerf the driving for "accessibility."
Yeah, I know it's a toggle and I can turn it off but the fact that "accessibility" means the game is actively fighting your attempts to drive is infuriating as hell. Worse, the game doesn't even bother warning you that using the settings makes the game damn near unplayable at higher skill levels. I get why it would mind you; I'm just mad there's no warning about it.
Edit: I understand these are casual inclined games and I'm not even pretending to debate that. But there is a world of difference between driving with things like Forza's "stability control" or Mario Kart's "auto-steering" on and off.

I get what you’re saying, but people aren’t playing Forza or Mario kart if they want competitiveness/realism.

The worst part is people are. People will turn ANYTHING into a competitive thing and scream "my immersion" selectively. One of the worst things of modern gaming

Mariokart world is highly competive do due tot he wall riding and sheer amount of shroomless cuts.

Actually theres a pretty big competitive scene for Mario kart, becauase at a higher level there is a lot more nuance and skill involved

I get that, but there are certain settings in those game that make the driving worse that are enabled by default for the sake of accessibility. Like Mario Kart's auto-steer or Forza's stability control.

It's on by default and they don't say, "Hey, turn these off for a better experience." It's more an infuriating UI choice than anything.

Well the system is to help children who barely know how to play the game to play it, if you cant find the settings button you might just need the smart steering

You might as well despise every single arcade racer that has come out in the past two decades

Not what I mean, I mean there are settings in the game where the game fights your attempts to control it that, when turned off, make the game play far better.

i get your point but why is mariokart included here? its literally a game made for young kids and even if it wasnt, its certainly not meant to be realistic in any way at all
