hello hello!
I found this gorgeous boy out on my farm a while ago (no chip, no tags, posted in lost and found pet pages, no luck on owners). We believe him to be a dump&run, and luckily, he came onto my land. So, he's added to the farm dog pack and is being loved immensely. We believe he's husky or malamute and maybe some kind of shepherd mix. We did a breed test, results to be determined.
I've never owned a double coated, a quad coat is what it feels like, I would LOVE some tips and tricks. He eats like a BEAST, but has the sweetest and calmest disposition. Baby thinks he's a lap dog, and has even taken to caring for my kitten.
I've been brushing him weekly, but we've hit "coat blowing" weather conditions (I think???) and my house is covered in his hair more and more. Thrice daily vacuuming is getting to me, but I'm more than happy to do so.
If you have any holy grail grooming items too, I'd love it.
any assistance to get my new baby taken care of is greatly appreciated. thanks in advance 💕💕💕💕
please let me know if this is against guidelines, happy to remove.

recently a husky showed up near my home! what i’ve heard from the neighbors is he’s not being taken care of by his owner, that the owner gave up on him and that’s why he roams.
i’m considering taking him in, but I have 6 cats along with my roommates cat.
how should I go about this? I grew up around dogs but this is my first experience with a husky, and he’s very friendly. I introduced him to my cats earlier and they did great! he had little to no interest in them at all

We have two 11 year old dogs (1 husky and 1 lab mix). They were both our dogs when we were single, the husky has been with me since puppyhood. She has always been treated as family and has also had some aggression issues over the years. As a puppy, it was resource guarding (with biting). As an adult, it has been more targeted towards other dogs. She was well socialized and has been through several stints of dog training with professionals. She's overall a great dog and I love her. Our lab is similar but more scared/ anxious around kids.
We have a 2 year old toddler. We have taught them to give the dogs space and we never leave them unsupervised. As our child has become more mobile in the house, we've kept the dogs outside more during the day. During the summer this has worked well but now the days are colder and the dogs want to be inside. They love to just be with us.
We've been allowing the husky more time around our kid and it has gone well. Our lab snapped at our kid when she tried to hug him and my husband didn't think he would react that way. Lesson learned, not hugging.
Recently, our kid tripped and fell on the husky. The husky immediately reacted aggressively. It felt like she had the initial reaction to growl and then chose to bite our kid, leaving bruises on her back. The husky then bit my husband as he tried to take her outside (it was all fast and the husky has bitten us before for making her get up to go outside).
Anyway, in the past I've talked to trainers about this exact scenario and over and over they say something like, "it would be easier to train your kid to leave the dog alone than to train the dog." Yikes.
Don't get me wrong, I do believe dogs should be able to communicate their boundaries. However, I do put my kid's safety first and I know how easily a corrective snap can go wrong.
I'm not here for people to bash my kid or my dog. I'm hoping for some advice on next steps.
Do we train our dogs to wear muzzles while inside? Do we get them dog houses to be more comfortable outside during the day? Is there something creative I'm not thinking of?
Sincerely, someone just trying to do the right thing.

Hey all!
This is cosmo. He is 50% husky and the rest is a complete mix. Hes a very sweet pup and great with our cat, 2 other dogs, and even 5 year old.
Our biggest problem is potty training. I am home all day let him out constantly and he STILL has accidents. Hes almost 6 months old. Both of our other dogs are not huskies but they were definitely potty trained by now.
Im starting to think there's an issue or he has rocks for a brain. 😂
Our friends who have 2 huskies mentioned it took awhile for theirs to figure it out. I just dont want to wade around pee and shit in my house.
Don't get me wrong, I adore this guy and he is our family for life. I just want a sign that its almost over lol

She took all the toys from her sister and it’s still not enough. Husky brat face.
