Probably because the phrasing "identify as x/y/z" implies not really being x/y/z, just pretending. Trans women are women, not men who identify as women, and trans men are men, not women who identify as men. I think the phrasing is just obsolete.

I've been investigating this spell's coding and it seems to be a cheaply modified pre-existibg Polymorph spell.
Looking through the runes, it seems that ambiguous cases default to the prime function of the spell and impose a basic carcinisation on the target.

What if we are happy with being the with being the ones that break the binary? Regardless, I dank you. A lot of people struggle with this, and I hope they feel the love for themselves they feel like they can't otherwise feel. I used to be a part of the group with gender dysphoria. I am now part of the group who are gender don't give a fuck lol. I used to have a hard time loving myself and then a fragmented part of me spoke his voice and gave me the closure, he was a lost part of me. I am never truly alone even though I can feel gravely alone because of other people a lot of the time... It's complicated, but at the end of the day I found love for myself from something akin to a psychotic break. I promised him I would never harm myself again, and he told me he loved me.
