Sorry mods, I know there’s a rule against sad stories and memorials, this is meant as a happy final update but if you have to remove, I understand. But one of them does bite me, evidence is in the video, so they’re still criminals!

I decided to make a short video for those interested in the outcome of the little kitten criminals locked up in my garage, who love to all go toilet at the same time. The original post : https://www.reddit.com/r/IllegallySmolCats/s/ytsWLOzKi0

We started with 5, then the one I chose to keep for sure, and named, suddenly became ill. Details on my comments history as this is a happy update, but she passed 24 hours later and I was devastated.

First thing next morning the 4 kittens and mum straight to the vet. Kittens all had the same blood results as Bella, but we got it earlier, and they are now all extremely happy and healthy.

The mum however had a severe infection in her uterus, and she was in kidney and liver failure range on her bloods.

As hoped, 4 nights at the vet stabilised her enough to remove the infection, and come home for recovery. Blood results all now in normal range and will make a full recovery!

Thank you everyone for you lovely supporting messages, it really really meant something. Bella came into my life at a time when I am barely holding things together, so her passing hit like a freight train.

So now I’ve named them all and will keep them all myself giving them all a forever home as outside cats with the mum.

Take care of your little ones, and always trust your gut. If something doesn’t feel right, or some advice sounds off, go to the pet hospital asap. Don’t make my mistake.

Kittens have been sick but the others aren't holding it against me. Jasper won't forgive me for giving him awful-tasting medicine and washing his bottom. More medicine to come on Monday. 😢

Every day she looks bushier and bushier. And that long sweeping tail.

I have some very shy foster kittens right now, and was concerned about how I could weigh them. Ended up being the easiest weighing session I've had - all 3 took turns weighing themselves. I just had to sit nearby and wait.

The shenanigans must go on.

Riff-Raff went through a spell of needing extra care during weaning. He was doing what Kitten Lady calls “meat nursing,” where he sucked at the gooshifud instead of biting and chewing it.

His weight stalled - while his sibs put on 40 or 50 grams, he gained 10 and then lost 5.

We moved him to boiled, shredded chicken breast, to encourage him to learn to chew, and he took to it like a velociraptor! He still nursed on the kitten food, tho.

We then tried a new brand of kitten food that had chicken chunks, and all is well now!

Oh - also, he turned out to be a girl.
