Classic. Why dude just bites it right away ill never know.

1.3k

u/flatwoundsounds 5d ago

And he went back for another bite!

566

u/z0mOs 5d ago

He did already fucked up, the second bite was to somehow prove he intentionally fucked up himself.

337

u/Flomo420 4d ago

all things considered, dude took two bites of the world's hottest pepper on live TV and handled it like a champ

u/5meoWarlock 4d ago

Not pictured: him on the ground 2-3 hours later

70

u/damian1369 4d ago

I'd say the dude has some good pain tolerance/experience/profesionalism in him. My best bet is he walked it off, ate something soothing for the stomach and then the next day on the toilet went: "oh fuck, I did that!"

3

u/toxicatedscientist 4d ago

Poor guy didn’t make the toilet?

just glad he wiped his eyes with the hands that just held the hottest chile on Earth... seems smart

Story time:

ONE time ever did I try cooking with habaneros. I didn't know to wear gloves, and I spent part of the evening extremely aware of my cuticles because they were on fire. Soaked them in milk, and yogurt, dish soap, etc. Finally after a couple hours I was ok again. A few more hours and it was all but forgotten.

Flash forward to later that evening in bed. Partner gets frisky, some fingering goes on, and about 3 minutes into things her loins were on fire, and not in a good way.

21

u/Britt_Happens 5d ago

I had a very similar experience with my wife when we first started courting. We were both preparing the food and we were both burning in the loins.

18

u/proeliator 4d ago

Holy cow, had the exact same experience. Although it turned out she was a tramp, and it was just chlamydia. We’re divorced now.

5

u/notthephonz 5d ago

The guy had just told him it was the hottest pepper on Earth, what did he think was going to happen?

40

u/too_sharp 3d ago

THEN WIPED HIS EYE

11

u/Murphuffle 5d ago

They do taste amazing. There are lots of hot peppers that taste way better than regular peppers, at least until the heat kicks in and you can't taste anything anymore. Heatless Habaneros? So good.

14

u/Bigram03 5d ago

I like to make something I like to call fire bombs. I take habaneros and hallow them and fill them with cream cheese and candied pineapple, wrap them in bacon, smoke will done and finish with a pineapple bbq sauce.

The sweetest of the pepper works really well.

3

u/Murphuffle 5d ago

57

u/IowaNobody 5d ago

I made that mistake after cutting peppers. I had a lot going on that day. Anyway, the best solution is to head straight for the shower. It worked well both times I did it. Did I mention I've done it twice? Don't ask.

56

u/GuavaOne8646 5d ago

Sadly, for very similar reasons, I am no stranger to standing in the shower pouring milk on my dick.

u/chevyfried 5d ago

This video is old too. A million is nothing compared to a reaper (2.2 million scoville units).

Also for reference, a jalapeno maxes out around 8,000 scoville units.

31

u/Cosmic_Quasar 5d ago

My friends and I tried Carolina reapers once, but I feel like it was a scam or something. Yeah, it was one of the hottest things I'd ever had, but it didn't feel super disproportional compared to other hot sauces I had had before.

The mouth feel only lasted like 10 minutes for me. But my gut was unhappy for the rest of the night lol.

Another time I was there and we had burritos and my friends dad had a hot sauce that was way hotter. I only took like 3 bites of the burrito and had to stop because my eyes and nose were running so hard it made it hard to focus on eating.

16

u/Solomon_Gunn 5d ago

Because those other things were unnaturaly hot. A lot of sauces use pure concentrated capsaicin in the mixtures, it's why on hot ones "da bomb" hot sauce rated at 100k is worse than their final sauce rated at 2mil. It's gonna hit different.

12

u/peepeebutt1234 5d ago

Da bomb also tastes like someone took a shit in a puddle of battery acid which makes it even worse on top of the heat. The hot ones branded hot sauces are actually pretty good even if they are higher scoville.

21

u/chevyfried 5d ago

You got fake reapers.

9

u/CptMisterNibbles 5d ago

Maybe, but growing conditions heavily affect the heat as well. I grow peppers and my scotch bonnets are hit or miss sometimes. They may have been just badly grown reapers

5

u/Flomo420 5d ago

any pepper lover will tell you that the level of heat can vary from pepper to pepper even from the same jar

Show some respect! Without brave guys like him—the "eat first, think later" type—humanity wouldn't have discovered many recipes for edible things, and an even greater number of inedible ones.

15

u/hellinahandbasket127 4d ago

The recipes that make inedible/lethal foods edible/non-lethal are the ones I wonder about the most.

There’s a fruit in Australia that is lethal when eaten fresh, but is edible (if stinky) after being buried and fermented for at least several weeks, or up to a year.

Who figure that out? Like, who thinks, ‘These things killed Steve last summer, so I buried some and left ‘em there to think about what they did. I’m sure they’ve learned their lesson by now, so I think I’ll give them another go’?

6

u/RomanJD 4d ago

I only tried enough to put on the tip of my pinky and it was so hot I actually went deaf for a few seconds. Had to take a stress nap because even exhaling felt like it was burning my upper lip.

Dude when the pain goes into your inner ear you know you done fucked UP. That being said I remember eating hot peppers regularly at this restaurant I worked at and eventually you become inured to it and get legitimately addicted to the pain and seek out hotter stuff. I never thought I would be one of those people, especially at the time because I was a massive alcoholic and my stomach was almost constantly in pain but the boss kept bringing us hotter and hotter shit and everyone started growing peppers and acting like we were scientists of pain. It was great fun and I look back on it fondly but I eventually stopped because you hit a point where you can't get anything hotter and you hit a wall and just start reading about the newest breeds of peppers and wishing you could find them. I was eating hot sauce on every meal and I got kinda tired of chasing the dragon. I've since stopped eating such hot stuff and now my tolerance is back down to where even a bottle of grocery store habanero sauce tastes hot to me, which I honestly enjoy now every once in a while. Seeing stuff like this does trigger me and makes me want to do it all again though.

18

u/Polite_Suggestion 5d ago

Almost exactly the same arc. Had an ex that we'd play chicken eating the pickled tobascos from peppa juice until we got where there was no barrier. I grew ghosts to keep deer away. After the season, she made jelly from them I still miss so bad. It brought the fruit out that gives ghosts that edge over habaneros. None of that nasty kerosene taste and smell so common in super hot stuff. Guess I'll never have it again, because I think you have to be crazy to process those things. It absolutely doesn't not matter what precautions I take: every damn time, capsaicin will somehow reach my genitals with a feeling like frostbite.

5

u/watsgowinon 5d ago

Strawberry jam with ghost peppers are so good.

6

u/Polite_Suggestion 5d ago

I saw that somewhere, maybe Sam's club. I wish so bad they had it just ghost. It's such a weird, subtle flavor and jelly is about the only way you can eat enough of it to taste anything but the first stages of shock.

2

u/dasvenson 5d ago

I wasn't quite that extreme but I used to chase hotness too. Ordered the hottest thing on the menu, asked for extra sauce etc.

These days I treat chilli like a flavour that I that comes in lots of different forms and add complexity of flavour to a dish and not necessarily spice.

Some are hotter which are nice on occasion but hotter for hotter sake just seems stupid to me now.

Friend brought some kind of insane home made hot sauce to a party in high school because he'd made it so hot he couldn't use it so he was trying to pawn it off on someone.

I'm Indian and used to hot hot. I have to reassure folks at Asian restaurants that though I have light skin I'm not white so they don't give me the "white people hot" version of dishes.

I had 1 drop on my finger like you. It was so hot my nose started bleeding. Granted, I had a fucked up septum that would bleed at the sight of a stiff breeze, but I basically pepper sprayed myself.

3

u/Polite_Suggestion 5d ago

My ginger mustache and I feel your pain. When my sinuses and ears are congested certain times of year, I figured out to ask waitstaff to tell kitchen staff to "kill me. Please try to kill me."

Found a Mexican joint that'll make me camarones a la diabla that feels like doing ecstasy. First time I ordered it like that, the whole kitchen came out to watch.

We in my family are a bit insane..we like spicy food quite a lot.

Mom grows Trinidad scorpion peppers in the garden.

One night at a family get together, she had brought some to share, yknow take home and cook with them. My cousins husband decided he was some kind of dumbass and took one in a single bite.

We were at my grandmas and she doesnt keep milk in the house. Bro downed a bottle of ketchup. And then threw it back up. He was a horrible mess covered in puke, tears and snot.

Great fucking night

Lol, my buddy put just a few drops of that into a can of refried beans that we were going to make into burritos. holy shit, It was the hottest burrito I've ever eaten

7

u/thetateman 5d ago

I'm pretty sure that is how it was intended to be used. Just put a few drops in a pot of chili to kick up the spice. Now everyone treats it like a normal hot sauce because they see it on Hot Ones.

10

u/jrb9249 5d ago

Hah! I have some in my fridge right now. Made hot wings earlier tonight actually.

It isn’t the hottest by Scoville level, but there is something about that particular sauce that will kick you in the mf teeth 100%. According to the bottle, it is pure lab-distilled capsaicin, and it feels like a chemical burn in your mouth.

Fun fact, it is the most consistent hot sauce used on Hot Ones (the YouTube series with hot questions and even hotter wings!). It’s always 3rd to last, even though it really is the hottest one on the rack. The show always get interesting after they get to that wing.

5

u/weristjonsnow 4d ago

His face was as red as a tomatoes the rest of the day and his eyes watered for an eternity lol.

4

u/urbz102385 5d ago

A woman we worked with brought hot wings in for our office one day. My buddy, who was a tool, boasted about how mild they were. She said she would bring him his very own wings next time, which she did. The next day he didn't come to work. When he returned to work, he explained to our entire office that he ate the wings, didn't wash his hands, went home and had some "me time", and ended up in the emergency room that night lol

Like I said, tool

3

u/ScreamingNinja 5d ago

I love that someone brought that sauce into the pizzeria where i worked one day, and poured a tiny bit on a piece of mozzarella cheese and dared me to eat it. I did and he was laughing the whole time waiting for the steam to start coming out of my ears. Little did he know, i used to mixed Da Bomb's competitor's sauce (Dave's Insanity Sauce) in my mayo to make sandwiches.

3

When I was in middle school, I brought a baggie with insanity sauce in it. I bet people on the bus $5 that they couldn't dip their finger in, eat it, and not make a face. For reference, my dad would take a pint of barbecue sauce and put two toothpicks' worth of insanity sauce in, and stir it. It was too hot for my mom and us kids. Two kids on the bus failed miserably. One Mexican boy passed with flying colors. I'm surprised parents didn't call the school.

My mate grew some ghost chillies in his garden, the plan was to take them to a party that night where we would attempt to eat them for a laugh. We went to the pub first and he was sat on a bar stool. He said Urgh, I've sat in something wet and touched the back of his jeans with his fingers. Few minutes later he rubbed his eye... yeah the chillies were in his back pocket and he sat on them and the plastic bag burst. Did NOT end well. 😆

Damn, a few years ago i often ate Carolina Reaper and the Ghost peppers, he is handling it like a champ 🥸

They really should warn people to absolutely not touch their eyes or face while eating that 😬

My partner and I did that stupid One Chip Challenge one year lol And by “did the challenge” I mean I took the TINIEST bit possible and coughed like a 12 year old who just stole one of dad’s cigarettes for the first time.

My partner managed somewhere around half of the chip. He has the capsaicin tolerance of a fucking bird most days, but that thing gave him a solid, angry mouth burn and subsequent VIOLENT stomach cramps and heartburn for about three hours. He was a trooper until the cramps kicked in. I think he likes the pain.

We still have the included banner hanging on our fridge that we “DESTROYED” the challenge.. I’ve told him it’s more like we WERE destroyed by it. lol

You can never win the capsaicin game 🥲

I managed over time to not fecking fold from the chillis but i could never ate chillis that where soked in vinegar, even when waaay less hot than the reapers.

Bhut jolokia is another name for ghost pepper. This is an older video and some super hot peppers topping the ghost pepper have been bred since (like Carolina reaper)

A lot of people say Flea but imo it’s Anthony Kiedis

White Rice or a Popeye’s biscuit works a lot better than milk. Mash that starch all over the inside of your mouth to encapsulate and buffer the heat.

This is one of the funnier videos I’ve ever seen lol

Then proceeds to touch his eyes, after taking a second bite. Brain not braining.

4

u/shakulous 4d ago

Why did he do that?? “This is the world’s hottest pepper. crunch

2

u/robaroo 5d ago

He touched his eye with the same finger he used for the pepper JFC this guy is clueless.

2

u/umassmza 5d ago

Even mildly hot peppers can mess with you with only skin contact. Ask any man who’s cooked with one then went to the bathroom without a serious handwashing first. And there’s no escape.

2

u/nthensome 5d ago

You have to leave the milk in your mouth for a while - that will help.

It won't 'cure' you but it'll relieve the pain somewhat.

But I'm not sure it'll do all that much for the world's hottest pepper

2

u/ContinentTurtle 5d ago

I chopped ghost peppers last month and forgot to wash my hands before scratching my eye. It felt like someone poured battery acid into my socket. I couldn't see for twenty minutes and had to sit in the dark crying like an idiot.

Put the liquid in your mouth and just hold it in there.

2

u/VadPuma 4d ago

The guy stated the hottest sauce at 1m Scoville units. The hottest now is well over 2.5m Scoville.

There's spicy and then there's unbearable.

2

u/liam_redit1st 4d ago

He touched his eyes too.

2

u/ATLBoy1996 4d ago

I imagine eating it is only the second worst part of the experience. People seem to forget it has to come out the other end tomorrow.

I hope he is doing well.... I will never NOT stop, watch, and laugh at this.
