What really gets me is that she could have just opened the back door but she just jammed it over the drivers seat, why?

Tbh I think that thing was only going through one of the front doors, the curve of the bumper would make it more difficult from the back. Since it's as wide as the car it had to go back to front hanging in the passenger seat, "2x4s from Lowe's in moms sedan" style
