The idea that I'm insecure about my masculinity is hilarious, because I make no claim to being masculine in the first place.
I do identify as male, but it's mostly because it's my biological sex, I've never felt particularly masculine. Quite the contrary, I've always been slightly repulsed by our society's definition of masculinity. May have something to do with being asexual; since I'm not competing for sex partners, I don't care about signaling my virility or whatever you are doing when you thump your chest and boast of your strength.
"Masculinity" is a social construct anyway; different societies define it in very different ways. And not every guy agrees with our society's definition.
You're projecting; that is, you are assuming that everyone thinks like you do and values what you value. Some men value friendship over appearing "masculine". You may find this risible, but that's a failure of empathy on your part.
Stop the madness lol, no one here is dogging on it. There's a couple comments saying it's unusual for an ex to officiate a wedding, most people being supportive overall. Not one comment about race
So you can literally search the comment section on iPhone by typing at the top. Out of the almost 1000 comments there is literally one saying black and cucked and one other saying the guy is black. This guys just exaggerating and you're getting downvoted for being right. Theres less then 1% of people being "racist," not "plenty, just two people out of 1000 comments. Guys trying to make it about race when it's not. I didn't even see it was a black dude till this guy said so.
So you think there’s a lot of people who think this is two healthy mature adults and everything’s fine, but because the groom is black, they can’t handle it?
Didn’t notice anything except that Tobey Macguire was officiating at his ex wife’s wedding (strikes me as awkward) and Tobey does his Spiderman pose (strikes me as awkward, weird, and sad - basically no dignity).
Everything else - including the skin color of the groom - is not the issue at all. At least not for me. Hell, you had to point it out for me to even notice.
