Tobey gets a bad rep, between the poker games and the young girlfriends.

But isn’t this the best case scenario for a failed marriage? I mean clearly they’re all good enough friends to both have Tobey officiate and for Tobey to accept. Clearly means relations with the in-laws are also decent. Personally this is best case for their kids. I really don’t envy kids that have to live with divorced parents that hate each other at worst or don’t talk at best. Seems like this is the healthiest outcome of a divorce for the kids.

I also think this shows that Tobey gets unfairly judged. Unless his ex wife, ex in laws, ex wife’s new husband are also all assholes and they’re all just peas in a pod.

Is the “young girlfriends” Tatiana Dieteman, who was 29-32 when she dated him, and he was 46-49? I think that’s quite an age gap, but there’s little problematic about it when you’re both 30+, emotionally mature and financially independent.

I couldn’t find anything about other girlfriends much younger than him, so someone else would have to link me.

That's just people who think everyone should be the same age dating. Which is dumb. As you said as long as it is two consenting adults it's no one's business what age gap there is.

Best relationship I’ve ever had started when I was 33 and she was 23. We’re still together 8 years later

My wife is 9 years older than me. We've been together for... thinks... 56-18=... HOLY CRAP I'M OLD... 38 years. Married for "please don't ask me I can't remember when we got married".

What brought the two of you together?

You’re only asking so you can scrutinize the circumstances. Don’t you realize how odd this is? Keep your thoughts to yourself and move on.

Nice deflection 😂

This is a meaningless comment.

Just a FYI the difference between 80 and 70 is going to be huge.

8

u/Dr_Socko 5d ago

What a stupid thing to say.

-2

u/JKlerk 5d ago

Just going of life experience. Typically this is where age difference becomes an issue.

2

u/Dr_Socko 5d ago

Considering the life expectancy for a man is only 76 years...

0

u/JKlerk 5d ago

And it's 84 for women which proves my point.

4

u/Dr_Socko 5d ago

Your point was that he will most likely die before the ages you originally cited anyway and she would likely be a widow even if they were the same age?

Okay.

1

u/JKlerk 5d ago

Again. The point goes right over your head. No worries. You'll likely experience what I'm talking about

1

u/Dr_Socko 5d ago

No, I understand.

The point is for you to feel smug and superior.

A lot of times the difference between 80 and 80 is huge. My grandmother died in hospice in her 80s and my grandfather still lives alone in his 90s.

5

u/Couldnt_Be_Thirstier 5d ago

My grand parents were 12 years apart but you never would have guessed. People usually mesh in relationships. Later in life the young partner typically keeps the older partner young

1

u/Bravefan212 5d ago

She’ll be fine. I’ll be dead and she’ll still be healthy as fuck living a beautiful life.

But if she was 22 year old, it would automatically be concerning? Lol

Ew that’s creepy. I couldn’t imagine dating a 23yr old. They’re basically still high schoolers

2

u/BannedbyDemons 5d ago

It's creepy that you think a 23 year old is basically still a high-schooler.

1

u/Bravefan212 5d ago

She was married already. This says more about you at 23 than anything

1

u/puresemantics 5d ago

If you were basically a high schooler at 23 that says more about you than anyone else. A 23 year old is a developed adult.

1

u/AlwaysBeQuestioning 5d ago

Yeah. I think it's good to be mindful of age gaps mainly because differences in age often come with differences in maturity, experiences, wealth and power, but this is not universal. I'm not familiar with everyone this man has dated, but the ones I know of seem to all be people that don't have huge differences in experiences or wealth compared to him.

1

u/darkResponses 5d ago

its court of public opinion bullshit. I was in a relationship where the other person heavily criticized large age gap relationships, but failed to remember that they were themselves in a large age gap relationship for a while.

-1

u/Brilliant-Mix6406 5d ago

It's just Redditors that think that.

1

u/finchdude 5d ago

Nope heard that bs a lot outside of Reddit
