MISC. A Virginia man inadvertently left his phone recording while he was under anesthesia for a colonoscopy, which captured audio of the doctors: mocking him, instructing a medical assistant to lie to him, and discussing giving him a false diagnosis of hemorrhoids. In 2015, a jury awarded him $500,000.

fyi the main issue was the false diagnosis record, not the insults. You can’t sue your doc for calling you an idiot

Yeah, I would imagine everyone occasionally talks shit about their clients (except maybe, like, nuns?), but the lying on a medical record is a big deal.

I had a nun sit at my table during a charity dinner. She was telling us how she and two of her sisters got kicked out of the diocese owned home they were living in because the bishop decided he wanted a new priest to live there. She was saying things like “Apparently one male is worth more than three females.” while rolling her eyes. She was giving them hell.

Kind of unrelated but I lived next door to a group of nuns that shared a home and smelled weed every time I walked past

Ha! Yeah I’m not Catholic. I guess I was thinking of Sound of Music, but even those nuns were all “Maria’s a flibbertigibbet!” So, yeah. Everyone shit talks! Oh! Except for the monks who take vows of silence??

A lot of doctors don’t. “MD” behind a name makes a lot of doctors very uninterested in making extra comments. For this exact reason.
