Image Hello fellow introverters.
Born an introvert. Always have been and always will be. I used to feel like I was the weird and awkward person in the room but now that I'm older, I don't care anymore. I don't really even care to have friends anymore. I've tried and it's hard for me so whatever. Since graduating college, I have gotten a little less introverted but I still like being alone for the most part. Being around someone who's super extroverted is super exhausting so I try to avoid those types of people. I like my downtime after feeling overstimulated.
That's it. Just wanted to introduce myself to the introvert community. 😌

Why do I feel like we all have an introverted look
10
u/Typical-Breath-1271 Jul 04 '26
Do we? What look is that?
37
u/PrintNegative6040 Jul 04 '26
An authentic look. Like not performing in anyway possible like others (npcs) lol.

u/BrizzyMC_ Jul 04 '26
how do you know you're not an npc

u/PrintNegative6040 Jul 04 '26
I don’t mask any part of myself/life for anyone. Not my family, friends, or even work. I don’t follow any scripts in society. I don’t do the bread and circus.

Wait a sec.are you truly introvert posting a picture welcoming yourself? Are you posing introvert? I am suspect lol

u/Typical-Breath-1271 Jul 04 '26
Lol 😆 at least I don't have to pose in person in front of a whole crowd. You would not see me doing that. Online, I'll pose all day.

This sub has more extroverts than your average sub. The sheer amount of people on this sub who seem to want people to talk to or engage with them in some way is honestly kinda mad. Have you ever seen another sub where every day someone posts looking for someone to talk to? The real introverts on this sub say almost nothing because they literally don't want any kind of unnecessary social interaction.

u/Typical-Breath-1271 Jul 04 '26
Well I'm not the one making those types of posts. I am one of the ones literally saying nothing like 99% of the time. I just wanted to make a post introducing myself as an introvert. Doesn't mean I'm searching for a full blown hours long conversation.

You don't need to prove yourself, OP. It's a pleasure to meet you. Sometimes people just need to be a "better" introvert than everyone else. Funny how that goes!

Well at least we have you, introvert gatekeeper, to expose all these extroverts.

You’ll occasionally run across another one of us in real life, though it is pretty rare. Those are usually good lasting friendships that don’t overwhelm and respect your introvert boundaries.

Hi! Welcome. I completely relate.
I'm older in my 60s. As a kid I always was perfectly comfortable being alone. Being alone was never a state I wanted to avoid. I found it luxurious to be alone.

I would never reveal my face like that

u/Typical-Breath-1271 Jul 05 '26
I don't mind revealing a face. The face-to-face conversation is what I have trouble with.

Hello and welcome! I love your description of yourself. I am very similar. It's funny, I do enjoy the company of fellow introverts. You can be relaxed, do your own thing, share a thought now and then that isn't chit chat. It's nice!
Have a great day!

Hello! Glad you found your happiness ☺️. We love to be alone but that not means we need to be lonely.

Love being an introvert. One problem I have is I need to check on my family sometimes . Sometimes they think I died or something because we don’t communicate as often … I’m talking about every 3-4 months lol . Another problem I have I don’t keep a conversation going either. Not because I cant , I just don’t want to . I enjoy just keeping to myself honestly. I stay out of trouble and trouble stays away from me most of the time 😌.

I'm the same way with my family. I don't really contact anyone unless they contact me first or one of us needs something. Kind of bad but I just honestly don't have anything to talk about.

Hey Sis!!! I agree with everything you said. As the mom of a 18 year old, I’m so glad they gave the language to understand who they are and give themselves more grace than I received from others or gave myself. He is leaving for College soon and I think his College experience as an introvert will be a tad easier.
2
u/Typical-Breath-1271 Jul 06 '26
Well hopefully it is easy for him. I started college years ago with mindset of making friends and having the college experience, but it was very different that what they portray in movies. I was a loner in college and just gave up trying to make friends. It didn't help that I also didn't live on campus. It was a local college so to save money, I lived at home amd just commute everyday. But I just sort of kept to myself the whole 4 years I was there and my days were just "go to school, then come home, go to school, then come home".

If a calendar of introverted pin-ups is ever created, please submit your portfolio, Typical-Breath-1271. I suggest applying for a summer month because you are hotter than July!

Hello! Ive Never been on this sub before. As a dude with severe social anxiety and a introvert I envy your courage to post a picture of yourself, something I don't think I could do. Anyway, welcome!
2
u/Typical-Breath-1271 Jul 07 '26
I get it. In my opinion, posting a picture is easier than having to be face-to-face with someone you never met and trying to start a convo.

Welcome to this community! Instead of questioning (as some have done) why you posted your photo, I see this completely differently. I admire you for this and it inspired me to read your post. To me you were saying “Here I am, you can see I’m a normal person, it’s just that I have some social anxiety - no big deal - lots of people do, so stop beating yourself up thinking there’s something wrong with you!!”.

Welcome. Yes, alone time rules! And extroverts *are* exhausting. This is a good little community. Okay, let’s all return to our separate quarters now.
