I’ve been loving playing around with photographic styles while taking pictures. And if you customise the styles in the camera app they will be remembered when you select them again a second time.

But as you know you can also change them after taking a photo, but I found that the settings I set in the camera app are not the same I found in the Photos app afterwards.
And once personalised in a photo on the Photos app and saved then if you edit another photo the styles will be reset.

Is there a way to actually save the custom styles?

Workaround: take a photo for each of the syles you like in the camera app and then copy paste the edits on other pics.

(I’m also posting this to [r/iOS27](r/iOS27) as I’m not sure if it’s just iPhone 18 pro related or if iPhone 16/17 have this too)

Long overdue. I always rock my phone naked and unless the phone feels barely there I won’t use it. This one’s nice. Very thin case overall. Great material, feels great to hold.

The area to the camera plateau has a gradual slope that makes it pretty comfortable to the hand unlike the previous iterations, which are just flat till the camera bump. Camera button’s overall responsive, kinda iffy if you have swipe enabled.

I will say though, the edges around the charging port cutout are still quite sharp, which is probably unavoidable given how thin it is. So if you’re a pinky-under-the-phone user, you’ll feel like something’s cutting your pinky.

I’ll give this case a 9/10, try it out if you want a thin case.

I just received my 18 pro max in the mail this week and the power button does not feel as clicky as the volume buttons. It almost feels like it gets stuck then goes back to normal. I have an Apple Tech Woven case on it but I tried it with another case from Amazon and with no case and it seems to be doing the same thing with or without a case. I’m thinking of taking it down to the Genius Bar for a replacement. It’s ridiculous that such an expensive brand-new phone would have this issue only a few days in. Has anybody else also had to deal with this?

I haven’t had a pro before but it is nice only having to charge every other day 🪫

Hey everyone!
I’ve noticed that my iPhone 18 Pro Max drops to around 24 FPS as soon as there’s even a slight decrease in lighting when recording video with Auto FPS enabled.
In almost every other scenario, the camera works perfectly, including when I disable Auto FPS. However, with Auto FPS enabled, it seems to drop to 24 FPS most of the time, even when recording a completely static scene.
Has anyone else experienced this? Could someone with an iPhone 18 Pro Max test this on their device and let me know if they get the same results? I’d really appreciate it!
A couple of things I’ve noticed:
Auto FPS does seem to capture more detail in low light, but the frame rate drops to 24 FPS very easily.
Compared to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, why does the frame rate seem so much more sensitive to lighting conditions on the 18 Pro Max?
I’ve attached two examples. They might not be the most aesthetically pleasing videos, but they’re practical enough to demonstrate the issue.
I’m trying to figure out whether this is normal behavior with Apple’s Auto FPS processing or whether my unit might be defective.

Bought this 18 Pro for my mom about a month ago. It’s been smooth sailing, except this camera issue that occurs when attempting to take a picture of a paper. Any possible solutions other than bringing it back to Apple?

I have the iphone 18 pro max from iphone 11 upgrade ordered and wondering what is a good powerbank of it just in case. I am actually thinking a wired and magsafe powerbank in one. Appreciated all advice and sorry for my ignorance

Have been using spigen case that was labeled as iphone 17 pro/18 pro for last 2-3 weeks. Online it said it works for both phones and despite reading online that the 18 pro camera sticks out slightly farther, i believed the claim that it worked for both phones. Anyways, camera screen broke basically first drop of ~3 feet onto back of the phone with nothing else breaking.

So now I am not sure i trust the case I currently have. Any recommendations for a clear, magsafe case that will actually protect the phone and the camera area? Planning to have this bad boy for long time and won’t have apple care for that whole time.

After using the 14PM since launch and being very much in doubt whether I would get the 18PM, the Duo, or wait another year, I ended up deciding on the 18PM in Glacier.

My 14PM could certainly be used for at least another year, but its battery was unusable. the phone would heat up like crazy for no apparent reason and by the middle of the day I already had to charge it to last until the end of the day. This is without a doubt the highlight of this upgrade for me: the battery. I've never had a phone with a battery that lasts as long as the 18PM. With relatively heavy use I get about 10 hours of SOT. With more moderate/light use it easily surpasses that.

Besides the battery, having Apple Intelligence is also a bonus for me. I use the text/search tools quite a bit.

Other than that, there really isn't a huge difference in day-to-day use, in my perception. I hope to keep this phone for at least 4 years, as prices are already at absurd levels.

9 hr shift and pretty much steady constant usage all day. To say the least , this battery is more than enough.

I am honestly astounded by how little this phone lasts on a full charge. For example in this image I played a mobile game for 40 mins which used 18% and then the rest is web browsing and reddit no scrolling reels or anything. I’ve had this phone for 2 weeks and I’m so confused how everyone is claiming 2 day battery life from this thing? Siri is off, all location services are off, i’m using 4G instead of 5G when i’m at work cause the signal is atrocious. I’m in Australia so my phone has a sim card slot but surely that little difference can’t result in this much of a loss in battery life?

I'm a beta user and have been for years and I have both the 16 pro and the 18 pro. Installed iOS 27 beta 4 on both

Noticed battery life improvement on the 18 pro and it got smoother than it was on iOS 27 beta 2. Seeing the improvements I updated the 17 pro to the same dev beta.

Observation - the 16 pro is smoother and faster than it has ever been or I ever remember it being at least. it is much snappier than the 18 pro, noticeably so - and the 18 pro is fast and snappy to begin with - but the level of snappiness is like looking at a 60Hz iPhone vs 120Hz.

Check the setting on both for motion, frame rate etc and its all the same - wonder what could be causing such a difference. Thoughts? anyone notice similar things?

Traded in my 14PM using ATT $1,200 trade in any condition offer. Had it for just about a month now. No complaints. This is my first iPhone that isn’t gold since the iPhone 7 Plus. Honestly, I would’ve kept my 14PM if it wasn’t for this weird glitch where apps would restart when switching between them, and the fact it wasn’t USB-C. I was just as excited to get a color matching Anker battery pack!
