Movies War Machine name origin in MCU?

This may be a bit of a stupid question, but when does Rhodey officially adopt the title of “War Machine”? Because I just rewatched Iron Man II and forgot that when he steals MK II, Tony says “You wanna be the War Machine? Take your shot.” which I figured was just him giving Rhodey a nickname off the dome like he usually does with characters in the MCU, but it’s capitalized in the subtitles like a title. So then I thought “Let me just look it up.” And I found something else saying that Justin Hammer introduces him by name as “War Machine” at the expo, which is much later, and is just blatantly false, so… am I missing something here?

Tony did give him the nickname, but It was meant to be an insult towards rhodey, he just adopted the name anyway. According to the iron man 3 prequel comic.

Okay, that makes sense then. I figured that was probably the case, it just felt kinda weird how he just kinda says it as a one of thing in the middle of a fight and then every movie afterwards refers to him as War Machine. Still cool though.
