Misc We need a new Rogue Trader team!

I love Elucidian Starstriders, but the team is honestly outdated and not even classified anymore. We need a new Rogue Trader team with a unique cast of minis as the crew. Would love something inspired by the rogue trader videogame or even the Blackstone Fortress minis repacked as a team.

A rogue trader team that actually has just Humans, Eldar, Tau, Space Marines and whatever would be sick

And all of them are racists.

It’s 40k so who isn’t? (Except orks and nids maybe)

Still, it's nice when some can hide it a bit

United in racism against anyone not in their squad

Abelard would be the Nemesis Operative

I mean as a guy new to Kill team, that picture looks pretty good epic. Is that an existing team?

It’s the player characters for the Blackstone Fortress Game, super fun models but unfortunately no real data sheets for KT or 40K unless you use them as proxy’s

The priest and the navigators have rules for Imperial Agents.

no real data sheets for KT

Ummm akshually! They have rules for KT1!!!11

But yeah.

It's a shame they didn't add rules for them with Nemesis Ops but I guess maybe they're waiting to see if it's worth another Elites/Commanders sort of rulebook investment.

Huh?

The Ministorun Priests and Navigator and Rogue Trader are in Imperial Agents.

The Kroot can easily be played with Farstalkers or as a Shaper in 40k.

The Ratlings could be played with Ratling team.

The Ranger and Man of Iron are really the only models without an easy use in KT or 40k.

I think they were referring to the fact that they don't have a dedicated Kill Team themselves. Like one that includes all the Blackstone Fortress Mini's

This is the second time today I’ve seen the blackstone fortress minis, and today’s the first time I’ve ever seen them. They are so good. I need them.

Buy this. It's dirt cheap, has all the models and an ambull. For less than what the same ambull costs from a GW store. And it's a fun little game.

That looks awesome but it’s sold out online and if you look elsewhere it’s big bucks

u/marksman1918 Jun 23 '26

My bad. In my brain I had just ordered it but that was probably 10+ months ago by now. A good indicator would be the fact all the models are painted except the ambull.

Good to know though - gotta keep an eye out for other things GW puts out because apparently there are bargains to be had

I wish Amallyn sold as a separate kit, I know the ministorum flamer does

She's available on eBay if in the US.

I'm surprised they didn't do minis for Rogue Trader. Such a great set of companions and the game did really well.

Having each companion with a couple of weapon options and then a highly customisable Rogue Trader model would be great.

Quanto sono belli, speriamo la facciano la squadra

What could be nice is a Kill team of Inquisitors (and not helps or whatsoever but 10 different inquisitors) from the Ordo Xenos, Malleus & Hereticus

A Rouge Trader or a Team consist of almost every abhuman that the imperium has in their disposal as a Kill Team would be nice to have

Any team having individual characters, like in an RPG, instead of a regular squad of soldiers, would be great.

Lucky me picking up a full copy of Blackstone Fortress, and yes, the explorers DO need to return as a full team.

1

u/Thatignorantmoos Jun 23 '26

I love the man of iron model, is there any way to get it other than looking for old Blackstone fortress sets?

1

u/illmeans Jun 23 '26

Maybe a necromunda rogue trader type game

1

u/Mortwight Jun 23 '26

Yes because I have them built/painted already

1

u/StippotIay Jun 23 '26

Might I ask what the Eldar model is?

1

u/Training_Watch8159 Jun 23 '26

Tyranid are inclusive, all become one of them.

1

u/EPGelion Jun 23 '26

If they can bring back the expansion packs from BSF, and individual models from the second big box, really a wonder that they haven't just re-issued them all as KT packs. (insert additional fury for Cursed City heroes being binned almost immediately too)

100% agree. That’s the new team I want most.

There is a homebrew team in KT Dash

Might need some play testing, but it's there...

If a team were released, and the mandatory one was a Rogue Trader, and the rest were minis from any loyalist faction (Max 7), how would you build it?

In a universe where races are known to not work together, I don’t know why there is such a wide appeal for a faction of different races working together

I don’t get the appeal

20

u/CaptainLhurgoyf Jun 22 '26

Probably because there are, in fact, examples of factions of different races working together within that universe. It's the novelty of it.

Tourist

Its a great response, and even though I’ve been here longer than half of this community has been alive, I certainly feel more and more like a tourist in 40k as time goes on

Because people like the exception to the rule. Why is that hard to understand?
