Misc Split New Ork/Legion of the Dammed Set

Hello, I’m pretty new to the Warhammer scene and I’m making my first army (its orks). I’m trying to get my hands on the new Ork Nobz kit before December and it seems the only way that’ll happen is if I get the new kill team set. So I’m looking for someone to split the box with, I’d take the orks, the ork grechin, and all their decals and you would take everything else. Not exactly sure on the total price of the set yet or how we’d split it percentage wise, but hit me up if you are interested.

Writing at least the continent in which you live in might be helpful.

They're likely American. Only folks I ever see who assume everyone else on the internet is in the same country as them.

There's a sub for that (cos of course there is).

American here. Can confirm. Unfortunately

Yeah, kind of like how europeans always seem to assume everyone outside is some sort of troglodyte, you guys act so high and mighty for living in the shithole countries you do.

Australians also think Yanks are overhyped tossers 💁🏻‍♂️

all i need is one friendlyjordies video to make your country look like an absolute joke, the state of your government is abhorrent.

Is Warhammer that popular in the US? I always assume people here are British 😂

28

u/zystyl 24d ago

I'm Canadian. It's popular enough where I live, but it is a little niche. Most people know what it is at least.

u/VariationGreedy8215 24d ago

There's also ALOT of Canadians who play, like it feels like theres more of us then there should be with our population. I think it's becuase if you don't live in the GTA then Warhammer or DND was the only outlet for you to do anything as a kid.

I think it's less about where it's popular and more the fact that Americans generally seem to forget that the rest of the world also has English-speaking people who use the internet.

Oh yeah. I live in a midsize market (Knoxville, TN) and on big preorder days (or formerly the mini/coin of the month days) we would have a pretty decent line at the WarHammer store. We probably have around 12 hobby shops in a 20 mile radius. I can’t think of any of them that DON’T carry WH. We even have a kill teams tournament here in October.

Also from Tennessee. Tiny market still booming here. We most definitely account for more sales than engarland.

The entire country is the size of nyc.

Look at the analytics on this comment in about a day, keeping in mind Reddit is an American site.

I often see my comments on Warhammer subs get about double the views by Americans, which is good going considering how much bigger they are than us.

Well for some reason the xenophobic imperialists that worship a big gold guy have really taken a liking to 40K.

6

u/mapmakinworldbuildin 24d ago

Jesus Christ.

u/Fluid_Jellyfish9620 24d ago

No, the other guy but that works too.

u/BipolarMadness 23d ago

Do not bring politics into the sub. Do not turn this place into Grimdank.

-4

u/mapmakinworldbuildin 24d ago

Never really met a Brit here.

they want to feel like they have some relevance in the greater world.

To be fair in this case the US does account for over 1/3 of warhammer players worldwide (compared to about 21% in the UK).

You could show a little grace in your response, rather than enforce the stereotype.

Most concrete info I have ATM is "Not within the next 3 weeks".

1

u/aggie1391 22d ago

If they keep to the three month mark for KT releases then November.

Just a shout out. These orks are gonna be super cheap considering how many marine players are gonna be getting this. I definitely wouldn’t be splitting this 50/50. Not sure on price but considering the individual msrp is probably 72-84 without a discount. Just try to do better than that

19

u/BoysenberryRipple 24d ago

Really? I feel like Ork players, especially currently the most played competitive army, wanting one of their core units, is a bigger deal than marines getting a quirky subfaction of some normal marines with moulded fire?

3

u/Downtown-Concept2009 24d ago

Oh for sure. If it was any army Other than marines I’d agree. Who knows maybe I’m wrong but I still think my point generally stands of ensuring you aren’t paying more than mspr of 72-84

1

u/DropBearWarrior 23d ago

Nobz are pretty mid in the current Ork codex, certainly will appeal but there’s still more marine players than Ork players, and some of those Ork players will have the old Nobz kit as well

1

u/le_meme_desu 23d ago

I’m firmly a chaos player in every GW setting I play but I’m picking up the LotD team.

-2

u/Classic_Finish8515 24d ago

you underestimate the need some people have to vindicate their fight for firstborn marines

2

u/NakedxCrusader 24d ago

Also there's about 1000 marine players for every ork player it seems. And 998 of those play ultramarines.. because that's whats painted on the carton.

May contain traces of sarcasm

2

u/XavierOpinionz 23d ago

Super hyped to see when they release in Canada and the price. I saw on GW site some teams went up to $100(?!)

2

u/xxWZRDx 24d ago

This is the way

1

u/LizardTentacle 24d ago

What a sweet deal. I’ll have to get the box for sure.

1

u/TheBabylonien 24d ago

How would you guys go about pricing orks/legion of the dead/terrain separately?

5

u/GenuineSteak 24d ago

not sure, but I probably wouldnt pay much more than like 1/4 of the box price for just the orks. You get 5 orks and 3 gretchin. whereas the other dude gets 10 marines, a substantial amount of terrain and the dossier (which you cant buy seperately).

2

u/DropBearWarrior 23d ago

We probably need to know the price first, the LotD will be the most expensive at 10 bodies

1

u/TheBabylonien 22d ago

Yeah that’s fair, I should have mentioned percentage wise

1

u/Freyman94 24d ago

I want the orks too

1

u/fotomini 24d ago

I don't know what the official price of this set will be, but it hurts that there are no new approved Ops cards in the set, or equipment. I compare it to Hivestorm because even from the looks it seems to be an equivalent... And if there will be only 5 orcs, it's pretty bad because you need at least 2 boxes to have all the options.

7

u/ActuatorConscious566 24d ago

A lot of people won't want the equipment because they already have it.

I think hivestorm was different because it was the first big box of the edition.

Yeah having approved ops in the box would be nice.

1

u/VariationGreedy8215 24d ago

I mean, I'm getting the box 100% I already have my name down at a store for it that has never let me down I've gotten every launch box over the last couple years aside from a few that I wasn't interested in. That being said I don't care for orks, I have a friend that might, but if you want to take them off my hands. We can workout a fair deal only thing is I'm in Canada. But more than willing to get these to you since you seem like you really want them. Average price of newer kill teams is around 87-98 CAD

I assume the box will be around a 30% discount from buying things individual, since I'm getting it at a 15% discount already, I'd probably only charge around 55-60CAD so long as shipping isn't too expensive then we are chilling

1

u/WhenAllGoesAwry 23d ago

Which shop do you pre order from? I’m in Canada as well and trying to help my local group get this preordered.

1

u/Erik-mit-dem-Trabi 22d ago

Would you buy and rest to EU in case the is more expensive in EU? Of course I would take care for the shipping costs.

1

u/Fart_Tounge_5609 23d ago

That is one boring Ork kill team.

1

u/SawtoothYeti 23d ago

It's already sold out, isn't it?

1

u/dddns 23d ago edited 23d ago

Is this set a new kill zone and a new season? since it's not volkus/tombworld terrain?

1

u/Joshturnbull98 22d ago

I wouldn’t worry mate, I think there’s going to be a lot of nobz getting flogged on eBay.

0

u/SpanishHenrique 23d ago

bet it is already sold out...no, sorry, guaranteed

Legion of the damned seemed cool but feels like what if anime crossed over with 40k.

8

u/Billy_Darkholme 24d ago

My sister that is not interested in 40k called them "Mexican Marines".

2

u/omgitsduane 24d ago

Legion of the dead hōla!

4

u/dalasthesalad Death Guard 24d ago

Honestly might be a more interesting aesthetic vs just skulls and flames, but would be a nightmare to paint

1

u/Jasboh 24d ago

Damn I think you have me some inspiration

0

u/Pleasant_Narwhal_350 24d ago

They're based off Western mythology and lore, not anime.

-28

u/WillingBrilliant2641 24d ago

Why even split? You are apparently wealthy enough not to care about possibly huge parcel costs to another part of the world (you don't give your own location and don't specify those you can send the parcel to). I guess the price of sending a parcel from, say Argentina to Saudi Arabia can pretty much negate the value of the part of the box you'll be sending.

If that is to altruistically spread KT love around, no matter the cost - admirable! :)
