I know there's been a lot of talk about how there's no place to actually watch the games which is insane (and moral of this story might be there isn't), but the other day I saw on the NBA app that there was a ClipperVision subscription being offered, for honestly the nice price of 89.95 for the year.
Seemed really strange because there's little to nothing about ClipperVision being available again anywhere, but I thought hey, maybe it's available, and signed up.
Yesterday, I went to watch the game, which was in the ClipperVision tab on my Roku NBA app. But when I tried to play it, it just sent me to the "subscribe to LeaguePass" screen. I tried on other Roku, browser, got the same message. Basically, it's as if ClipperVision doesn't exist, because I'm pretty sure it doesn't (they did take my money).
I reached out to customer support, and they acknowledged that, as in-market and subscribed, I should've been able to watch the game. Then they gave me the typical infuriating "IT" advice of restarting things, logging out and in, etc., obviously none of which work, because I'm pretty sure ClipperVision doesn't exist.
I'm still going back and forth, and they keep saying they've made some update to my subscription, and to log out and in (reinstall app, etc.).
Just curious, has anyone tried out this "new" ClipperVision? Does it work for anybody? I'm likely going to just cancel and get a refund (through them or chargeback). But I wanted to see if anyone actually had it working, or if I'm this lone person paying the one subscription they've gotten for a product that doesn't exist.
Insane that we're the fourth highest valued NBA team or whatever and we can't even watch our team's games in our city.
edit: They've now gotten back (after 10 or so messages) saying that the subscription's only for the regular season. I wish they'd said that instead of telling me in their early response that I was supposed to be able to stream it, but it's a better answer than "turn it off and on for the nth time." Gonna wait until game one to see if it's working, and I'll decide then if it's refund-and-sail-the-seven-seas time.
Annoying, because I'm more than happy to pay a reasonable rate for a reliable stream.
