Having problems with musk.
Good morning, evening and night.
I come to you confused and frustrated. I have a whirlpool 4.5 cu ft washer and 7.0 cu ft dryer. Im having an issue with musty smelling pants and shirts.
Im a equipment operator and HD mechanic so my clothes do get out threw the ring. Pants are 99% cotton and shirts for almost all of my closet is 100 cotton or wool.
Im using the tide pods that you get at Costco as well as gain beeds with borax as needed but my clothes lack that clean smell and or feeling. What am I doing wrong?

There’s a post which has basic laundry instructions that you can use.
Most folks who struggle with laundry use short cycles and water temperatures that are too cool. You can start by making changes there if you don’t want to read through the resource guide.

Pods don't have lipase, which is the ingredient you need to get your sweaty body oils out of your clothes. Switch to a powder like Tide, Gain, or Ariel 2X. Your first few washes may also benefit by adding a glug of ammonia onto your clothes right before you start your wash. Edit to add: Extra rinse cycle is always a good idea if your machine offers that option!

Need to strip your cotton clothes of the smell so maybe try products like Lysol laundry disinfectant or Downy Rinse and refresh . Wash your cotton in the hottest cycle that the label shows. Stop using the beads as I think they are trapping the odour in. So look for a detergent that has a strong Oxi base and not pods . Wool I’m not sure of
