Advice/Guidance About Camping

Hello everyone! Me and a friend are planning our second trip to Le Mans from Spain next year after going in 2025, but this time we are leaning towards camping instead (just a car and a tent).
From your experience, what are the best camping sites? I’m thinking something close to the main track (Houx, Épinettes, Hippodrome) just based on walking distance, but what more is there to take into consideration? From what I’ve read there’s really not many differences between them. What do you value the most?
Also, what’s the difference between numbered and non-numbered pitches? Is there any benefit to either of them?
TIA!

I was at beausejour, last time around. Was a perfect spot to go and see everything around the track imo

We like BSJ, people think it’s madness and full of thieves, stunt drivers and drunk vandals but it’s pretty chill and obviously good access to Porsche curves.

I heard the same, when I arrived all my neighbours where old French guys. Everybody cared and watched out for eachother.

There are more things in Beausejour, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy...

That is to say the size of BSJ is such that you'll find both the sublime and the ridiculous, or more accurately the serene and the psychotic in pockets around it. The quieter parts are off towards the edges, particularly, ironically, in the wooded bit closest to Porsche Curves.

Yeah, I think I was lucky as I arrived real early that weekend. 2 days later and I would’ve been placed inbetween the Germans blasting hardcore till 2 at night hahaha. It’s all good fun tho, everybody seemed really nice

Yeah we have a favourite spot in the woods... perfect for grumpy old men who just want to drink beer and watch cars go past

The madness is new to me, but ok. 😊

People will have their favourites but honestly, all the campsites are ok. A lot of people are creatures of habit so if they stay on Houx once, they want to keep staying on Houx (for example).

I was on Prairie in 2025 and it was ok. Plenty of showers and toilets but a bit of a long walk to the Karting gate if you couldn't get it at the techno park entrance.

I was on Nurburgring this year and it was very quiet - only one field and only got 25% full on the Saturday. Only one toilet and shower block but with so few people it wasn't an issue. Right on the Beausejour roundabout so easy access to that site for Porsche Curves, the road down to Arnage and the Karting entrance. I think a lot of people booked it as a backup then got their preferred site through resale tickets.

Karting campsite was good, choose to the track, easy to walk to the start/finish

It’s actually quite reasonable, given location and access to services. I miss their Friday morning runs I’d join as a guest from Tertre Rouge …

Check out the Wiki, yet?

Also - more a case of what you can get your hands on than what ideal world you would like …
