Not saying much about this, but the point of memes is a shared reference that through repetition, imitation and spread becomes understood.

Any successful meme is continuously recycled and regurgitated. The word literally means "something imitated"

I think it's that people on the internet don't always have the same algorithm, and it changes through time. I only found out about the "Hitler Dood" thing through this post, and I still don't know what the "there's only two things I hate" thing is. It might seem like it's being repeated to the point of being hackneyed for you, but that's not the same for everyone, and each time someone sees it for the first time (or the second time or something) they find it funny and encourage the algorithm to recommend it to a different group of people.
