Idk man, as a leftist, can we move towards class based policies instead of race? It's always a class war not a race war ffs

u/Genericnameandnumber 14h ago
With a class based analysis, isn’t it true that the Malay and Indian peoples are disproportionately less wealthy than the Chinese?

I commented on that post too. No idea why it was deleted. r/malaysia really is just an echo chamber for a specific group, and it definitely doesn't represent the vast majority of Malaysia. They might as well rename the sub.

28min and this post isn't removed. That's a new record. Mods still stuck in traffic jams is it?

u/ComradeSilverhand 17h ago
The whole entire " we want people who speak chinese " is basically just a thinly veiled attempt at saying " we don't want you here"

u/bugsreader 16h ago
kadang2 post pasal eksiden kereta ada 2-3 org beruk buat jadi isu perkauman, mods padam mesej. tapi bila "pihak" dia jadi beruk dia tak padam... aku perati lama dah. bukan setakat satu isu ni je

Idk what the original post is complaining about lol.
Private sector discrimination is just the other side of the same coin as public sector discrimination. If the official system already discriminates what do you expect the discriminates people to do lol?
Any logical self interested person will just carve out their own safe spaces where they positively discriminate for people like them.

Original post was asking about if anyone supports the special rights for bumiputera. Of fn course r/malaysia cant allow that kinda discussion

u/sirgentleguy Bangladesh 17h ago
Demm. Mods used to be more vocal. I remember I accused the exact same thing, then hyattpotter basically said “nahh..”
Now they don’t even bother to explain themselves and just posts any message through automods

Is your idea to show this to bring up racial disparities =/= racial laws?
Sorry, can you provide more context?

u/bugsreader 17h ago

u/ckc1151 16h ago
I wonder what are your thoughts on update the mod just posted on this post?
The post removed because it obviously violated the sub's rules
Do you think the post should not be removed still?

u/bugsreader 15h ago
kalau salah padam la macam dia kata tu. masalah nya dia just aktif padam yang bukan dari "side" dia. itu yang jadi masalah
3
u/ckc1151 13h ago
1 post, just 1, give me a post that is side dia yang tak dipadam
Just 1 u will convince me and a lot others

????
This post is about car crash
and the other is talking straight about race? how is this two same?
One is saying Generalizing Chinese Malaysian, straight up saying "Chinese people memang like this"
The post you send me is 'This "SPECIFIC" case" the post not claiming all malay people ram people.
Do you honestly do not see the difference?
Do not be intelligently dishonest, and tell me, do you think
"This specific Malay person ram people and not getting murder charge"
"All chinese racists"is the same thing

For my non-Malay speaking audience:
I just want to point out that the mods of this Malaysian subreddit are unfair. They fail to remove content that should be deleted, yet they also leave up things that shouldn't be there—it’s entirely based on their own whims, especially when it suits their side. You can find plenty of posts within this sub that provide context; it’s not just a matter of one or two isolated incidents.

How about GLC though? I understand if the CEO or the board is Malay, but the amount of high ranking Malay employee compared to Chinese is the clear indication of hidden bias

u/bugsreader 16h ago
kalau benda tu salah memang aku tak sokong, yang aku nak tekan kat sini tindakan mod yang tak adil. kalau betul dia nak delete komen berbaur racist dia patut padam dari dua belah pihak. ni dia padam kalau benda tu bukan pihak dia tapi kalau pihak dia dia simpan tak padam

I don’t think this is the best example for your argument. There is definitely at the very least unconscious racial preference in all companies. But to question why there are more Malay than chinese staff in a country where the malay population is the majority kinda doesnt make sense.
6
u/MooseOdd4967 16h ago
It is a necessary tool for stability because of how the majority react to its loss.

u/ponyponyta 16h ago
Actually are there no private Malay companies? Why they always want to get into chinese companies
1
u/bugsreader 16h ago
⬆️ komen macam ni kalau side terbalik dekat post lain mod dah padam

u/ponyponyta 16h ago
But like fr is it really like that?
3
u/bugsreader 16h ago
sadly yes
1
u/ponyponyta 16h ago
Then where do rich Malay people come from? Takkan just the cronies
3
u/bugsreader 16h ago
sorry aku reply salah context. aku nak cakap pasal perangai mods bukan pasal kaum mana paling banyak own company

Op started a political topic without participating. That is in violation of rule 1, which is written clearly under the removed post. Our cut off time is 2 hour AFTER posting, but we waited till the next day before removing it. We already are way too RRP heavy, so this rule is to reduce frequency of hit and run posters who just throw out a controversial topic and vanish like a ninja, snickering behind the screen at sub users who claw each other's eyes out.
If you like the topic so much, you can start a similar post and follows our submission format:
**Political and other controversial posts**
Due to the large number of political and other controversial posts the subreddit receives and their tendency to take over subreddits, you must meet these requirements to post such content:
- Account activity: You must have at least 2 months active participation on r/malaysia.
- Post diversity: Accounts may not primarily or exclusively post controversial content. Malaysia is more than its controversies. Accounts with such post histories may be subject to warnings and bans.
- Text posts: Must pass these quality tests (with thanks to r/Australia):
- Submission titles: Must be a question for discussion, not a conclusion. Mods may request resubmission of posts with particularly incendiary titles.
- Word count: Post body must contain a minimum of 200 words, not counting quotes and links.
- No ranting into the wind: If OP does not participate in the discussion in the first two hours, the submission will be removed.
Controversial topics are those which consistently generate flaming. These currently include race, religion, politics, COVID-19 and other related sub-dramas.

Hmmm
I seen videos and news snippets that generates flaming, while the poster did not even participate in the discussion. They just post the news/videos and went on their way. Posts aren’t removed for low-effort.
I posted a picture of racist (against malays) comment section of a news app, with the post title is curated to generate a discussion, and whoop deedoo got removed for low-effort.
This sub is infamous for removing a lot of posts, with a lot of people are getting confused on the reason. This sub has a wall of rules, but does not seem to apply them consistently or equally.
Deep in your heart, do you believe you and the other mods are being impartial in enforcing these rules? Don’t you feel that all of these rules are actually making it harder to enforce them, thus making this sub more toxic due to the perceived inequality?

pastikan tindakan kau adil untuk semua pihak kalau nak enforce peraturan, bukan pilih bulu nak enforce rule dekat pihak yang mana satu

u/katabana02 Kuala Lumpur 15h ago
We have tried to do that as best as we can. Report comments and posts that you think violated rules, and we will address that asap.
