I'm a local visual artist who makes a lot of paintings of Melbourne. I was inspired by this bit of winter light and just had to paint it.
Thought I'd share!

If you want to guarantee being the only person in a store, come here.

Edit: They are doing some construction where that Costco used to be, but I'm not entirely sure what's going to be put there, or there's the possibility they're going to tear it down. They're also working on bringing back the Melbourne Star but who knows how long that's gonna take.

27 year freo member here! (i just turned 27 on Friday! My grandparents gifted me with a life of disappointment with a freo membership at birth)

I arrived at 4:30am on Saturday, did the GF, had my dreams destroyed, and fly out at about 10pm tonight. I’ve been here probably 5 or 6 times now, but this has been my favourite.

I just want to say thanks for welcoming the purple army over the weekend, and as I sit here at Rooftop Bar reflecting over the last few days, I can’t feel anything but upset that I have to leave tonight. Melbourne has such a distinct culture compared to other Australian cities, and I implore you to be grateful you get to call this fantastic city home, and never change. Don’t listen to the doom and gloomers, you have done a city perfectly.

- CJ.

Outside Brighton Woolies. Did they teleport in? Go to the sidewalk then hit a nitro boost into the phone booth and bin? I have absolutely zero idea.

Pay phones seem to be an ancient relic globally, so the fact they’re still everywhere and free here is quite interesting. How long do you think these stay around for?

Walked through to get to work like I normally do and came across this vandalism. A passerby said it wasn't like this yesterday afternoon. Why would someone do this?
