The thing people don't realize is, "flying cars" have been feasible for a while but no companies are investing in their production because they would require a pilot's licence to operate.
Right? Like the average commuter probably breaks a dozen rules of driving on their drive in to the office in the morning. Now imagine a million of them over a city, where the consequences of sleep deprevation, or dropping the coffee cup are 100x. Not to mention the noise, pollution, and chaos. Also the danger of them just falling out of the sky when joe bloe doesn't get their thrusters repaired. There's a reason that planes require such strict maintenance logs, and pilots need intensive training and logging their flight hours.
Even if none of what you just said was an issue, can you imagine the cost? Even aside from the vehicle, fuel, and maintenance.. flying car insurance 😰
And new laws would have to be written which would be nearly impossible to enforce. What if someone flies over your house, what if people crash into a building on the 6th floor, what if we end up with a car crashing into a plane.
Yeah, I've seen endless YouTube videos of actual flying cars, mostly in a rotor drone style Formfactor. All of those were able to lift of, hover, gain height, turn around, have a stable flight
The Tesla thing is merely jumping.
The brothers wright would have had a much simpler life in this timeline, just jump from a chair and the idiots would think you flew.
Personally, I don’t want cars in the sky. I don’t trust people and the more cars in the sky, the more increased the likelihood of having a car fall on me becomes.
The thing you don’t realise, self operated vehicles are a thing nowadays and in that case (level 5 self operated) you could be a passenger, without a licence.
