From the guy who tried to make tunnels and failed?

I mean his rockets do fly really well…

Btw never had intentions of building hyperloop

It was a conspiracy made to make the California high speed rail not get attraction

Boring company has done quite well. It was a concept car. The Elon haters are as annoying as the Elon suckboys.

It doesn't. Still hasn't made a profit and the tunnel is a failure. Who taught you to look up stuff ?

Someone gotta try it tho, otherwise no innovation would happen

It was basically reinventing trains imo

Yea I mean. If massive underground highways existed that would be nice for the environment

You can pump the fumes out straight into a machine using tunnel vent systems and potentially use the captured gasses for something useful

Also makes places less busy

Or get this…we could just use trains

1

u/SplatNode 5h ago

Yea that's good, I wish we had the trains that I got to experience in Australia, massive double deckers with loads of room for ppl and travelling was so easy

And then there's a tech issue (because there always is and always will be a tech issue at some point) and you and your family and all the people behind you are stuck underground in a tunnel filled with fumes. What a great idea.

We have tunnels bro already

1

u/ArsenLumia 4h ago

Yeah, and I know how it ends when a car is on fire in a tunnel big enough for a two lanes road in both direction.

u/SplatNode 4h ago

Yea shit happens

I suspect it was Grok

The Boring company has not produced or delivered anything like it said it would and has completely lied about their capacity the entire time. It is completely subsidized and would not exist if not for the convention authority propping it up. They have essentially created some single lane tunnels to run taxis through and promised an actual public transit system.

1

u/Atarge 9h ago

The main purpose of this and hyperloop was just to prevent new train infrastructure from being built

2

u/Alexwonder999 8h ago

It was successful from that perspecitve. They got that sunk cost fallacy going now and cant admit they have egg all over their face.

Their reusable boring technology is genuinely innovative and impressive. The commercial tunnels were just to show that off, and were not that viable.

1

u/Alexwonder999 9h ago

I mean, I have heard that their tunneling machinery is innovative, but the Loop was not and is not just a demo. It was sold as a public transportation solution that has consistently had to walk back promises whole lying about what they do and can deliver.

It was a proof of concept. That’s how he works. He doesn’t spend decades with millions upon millions spent over engineering shit. He builds it, learns from the mistakes and makes improvements.

1

u/Alexwonder999 8h ago

Thats revisionist. Id tell you to go back and read news articles about what was proposed/promised vs what we have now, but you probably wouldnt believe your lying eyes. You must be full of kool aid. You probably dont believe hes been promising FSD was going to be in every car standard by 2016 either.
The actual strategy is he makes bold promises that are unreasonable, seriously under delivers, and then says "It was just a proof of concept" and you eat it up.

u/ScythesAreCool Dirt Is Beautiful 7h ago

Hey. Yeah you… you don’t build infrastructure and ‘learn from the mistakes’, because mistakes mean people die or get injured. In fact it’s all specifically about learning how not to make mistakes as best as you can to avoid killing people

u/ChefArtorias 7h ago

Said the suck boy.

You mean the guy who is launching rockets into space every few days?

1

u/ArsenLumia 5h ago

You mean the ones that were suppose to land on the Moon before 2024, then in 2028 and are now supposed to land in 2032? Or maybe the ones that were going to send humans to Mars around 2021?

Do people still believe in his Mars project when he can't even reach the Moon in due time?

Are estimated timelines for feats not yet accomplished something to judge people for now? Progress is progress, and you are angry that it wasn’t as fast as he said it would be

2

u/ArsenLumia 4h ago

I'm not angry, I just find it strange that people still believe a word that man says after always pushing things back or blatantly lying on most of his projects (the robot costume, the shattered bulletproof screen, the hyperloop, the self driving bus that can't go through a speed bump...).

Also feats not yet accomplished? I can understand for Mars, but landing on the Moon? And even if it's a first time, he's almost 20 years late on his first estimations. Try that at work and see how it goes.

And yeah, if you're constantly promising the stars next year, every year, I'm gonna consider you're either a lier or very incompetent, maybe both.

Good for you if you want to believe, even better if it happens. I'm not.

You’ll get downvoted by all the Kroger stock boys living in me-maws basement who think Elon is an idiot.
