What's wrong with that? All who used YouTube did this because they wanted to share how appreciated they felt for getting that much, because usually no one really gets that far if you for example not really comment much, or you comment mostly flop. I did this too actually.

It’s annoying because who cares. Most people who like or reply to a comment would just scroll and move on and forget. So thanking the likes make no sense. Not only that, but the excessive enthusiasm with a dozen punctuation marks and thumbs up is especially annoying, because it just feels so lame to me. It’s not helping in life, and it means literally nothing. It jusg makes the comment unnecessarily long. I hate tapping “read more” on a comment, expecting them to expand on whatever they were saying just to see its the same copy and paste “OMG TYSM FOR 1K LIKES!!!”

Another issue is it’s associated with pleading or like-begging. The even more pathetic version where kids beg for likes on their comment to make them feel special. It sucks. I just dont get what makes likes on comments so special

The second reasoning could be more complex and rare, I been on Youtube for a while and almost never seen people like these, if I did they were usually bots who just annoy everyone and get a ton of likes.

But for a first one I can explain like this, its like planting a Peashooter after the Sunflower in Plants Vs. Zombies, it doesn't make any fucking sense, since planting a Peashooter before the Sunflower gets you more utility and damage-wise game and use a Sunflower as a temporary shield too. But it feels more morally right and Sunflower is the main Sunproducer in this game, and the Sun is the main currency in-game which let's you buy seed packets to plant out your defense, in which case is more wise choice.
