well one human was a small child who fell in by accident, the other was a grown man who was determined to jump into the tiger enclosure-to the point of overpowering a woman who tried to stop him from jumping into the enclosure
I'm not sure if that fits the "mentally challenged". And the "caretaker" is bullshit, in the same article it explicitly says he did not have a caretaker as it was determined he does not need one (and apparently his family either tried to fight it or they say they tried to fight it)
Nothing is confirmed afaik but people noted in the videos he was using Makaton (a language used by people with learning disabilities) by pointing his pinky up which means "bad" towards the tiger.
However id argue that it doesn't matter if this man was disabled or not. If they jump into a tiger enclosure they are clearly not in their right mind.
And even if they were fully aware of their actions, why do people feel such a Schadenfreude about this? It's in any case sad that a human died here whatever thing lead him to these actions that lead to this result.
