I think I just recruited Venom in Peace Walker
Although, considering his Medicine stat, no wonder he didn't realize there was another bomb...

Hello, I hope everybody is well.
This is a quick post to announce that we have overhauled and updated the subreddit rules, in terms of the way they are listed in the reddit platform itself.
In essence the practical rules themselves and moderation has not changed. The main purpose of this update is to provide better clarity with Post removal messages, and to allow reports to be more specific.
You can read the new rule titles and their descriptions here.
Just three changes to note:
There is no longer a rule about spoilers when it comes to Posts. MGSV is over a decade old, and the spoiler rule was often used to report front page posts about the main spoiler for that game. Enforcing that is simply impractical. The intention of the rule remains, however, and it is now only applied to comments. If someone has stated that they haven't played the entire series, all users are still expected to respect this in their replies. Anyone can make their own choices about how far they dig through a subreddit for a game series, but putting spoilers in their inbox is actively hostile.
"Promotional Cosplay is not allowed". This is our attempt to provide a consistent rule that can be used to filter OF accounts looking for loopholes, while not punishing genuine cosplayers (including professionals) by restricting their activity. There's an element of subjectivity here, but if you think a post is a commercial account, please report it and do not engage in abuse in the comments. Just report it and move on.
AI content is now explicitly banned in all its forms. This was already functionally the case but we're making it clear with it's own rule. If you suspect a post contains AI content, please try to resist posting abuse in the comments and simply report and move on. False allegations can and do happen.
We'd also like to welcome anyone interested to apply to be a moderator. We expect to bring on a couple more people, starting out at a basic clutter removal role. If you think you'd be a good fit, please take some time to fill out our delightful application form.
You'll notice there are a couple of very specific rules that are really covered under other rules. These are for particularly egregious and common posts so that removals are very clear. Previously quite a few things kind of had to fall under "no low effort content" and that gave off the wrong idea and could be a little hurtful.
We'd like to thank the people who take the time to report posts and comments, overall the tone and discernment of reports is very much in-line with how we see the rules and how they are intended to shape the subreddit. This being said, all things considered there are very few removals needed relative to an active subreddit of this size. Things seem to be in a very good balance. I hope the community more or less thinks the same.
As per usual we are open to any and all feedback or discussion about the rules or the way you want the community to be run, so please say your piece in the comments, or if there's any questions you have or unclear rules or edge cases you can think of, bring that up too. The overall intent for the subreddit is still to provide an alternative to what you might see on a Metal Gear Discord, Instagram / TikTok etc. feed or a generic MGS-flavoured meme subreddit.

Occasional posts about general Kojima news are welcome here to a degree, but eventually Physint-specific discussion will not be appropriate.
The linked subreddit appears to be a good fit, so we're posting it here for those whose who aren't sure how to search.

Over the years, I’ve seen discussions about how Solid Snake in MG1 didn’t recognize that Venom wasn’t Big Boss, even though he had a large horn and a bionic arm. But at the end of the "Truth" cutscene where Venom breaks the mirror, he breaks that "illusion" and we see his true form, he never had a bionic arm or a permanently bloodied face, and the change in the size of his horn was all just a hallucinations, like mirrors of his psyche or visual metaphors, bionic arm symbolize that he lost something, Horn and Bloody face symbolize that he gradualy become a Monster/Demon. Venom looks differs from Big Boss mainly in having a small horn/shrapnell in his head and scars, and if we consider his pixelated appearance in MG1 as canon, he is wearing same green suit like in Truth cutscene, then when he met Solid, they only saw each other for a quick moment and were several meters apart, and I assume that during the boss fight, Solid was too busy trying to survive rather than examining what was sticking out of Venom's forehead. What do you think?

Hey all. I figured I’d post a picture of the statue I printed/painted from NomNom studios. Made a few modifications to the print (modeling the eyepatch for Snake/Cutting off a mirror to make it more accurate to the game bikes)
Had a small print error with the headlight but didn’t mind enough to remake it. Also didn’t want to spend an obscene amount for chrome paint for the headlight as I rarely use it, but overall, I’d say this looks… pretty good!
Figured I’d share it for all to see

And I’ve never seen him like that during any other game rollout, not even Death Stranding 1/2. Even tho he was under so much pressure and stress and probably thought MGSV would be his last time game, his energy during the rollout was immaculate

Hi everyone! I’d love to read your comments.
In the photo, you can see some bionic arms that were never added to the game; however, I wonder what function the parasite arm or the medical arm would have had.

I could never earn the title of big boss growing up. Now I have. What an experience.

Long story short i live in russia, and on 15th of june, 2026 KONAMI (may they all be buried in my d-horse's pile of shit) restricted online access to mgs5 servers for russia and belarus. Fair enough, i got used to sanctions. However, according to their announcement, we should be able to continue our single player campaign without issues.
You can't. If you have a russian PS account, now you just cant play MGSV. I've been troubleshooting for the past 3 hours, but there really seems not to be a fix for this issue. After I launch the game, I get a warning screen that servers are temporarily closed because of "technical" issues, which is followed by an infinite black screen.
R.I.P. to my staff. 1400 diamonds, 300+ of which were S++ rank in every aspect. Last time i have visited them on my birthday on 2nd of june this year, 2 weeks prior to losing them all
I guess it's lore accurate in some sense. Time
for 9-year coma for me. Will be back to start all over again in 2035.

Playing MGS4 for the first time on Switch. And holy... I didn't expect that I'll be coming back to MGS1's original setting. That unexpected transition from MGS4 to MGS1 where you have to go in one of the two ducts to gain access to the inside, and "The Best is Yet To Come" just plays when you finally entered the familiar terrain while going around... walking and suddenly you hear the flashbacks of the familiar dialogues around it just... gave me goosebumps.
I cannot deny that the greatest achievement that leads up to this, is avoiding all of the spoilers after playing MGS1 (first time I played this is back in 2023 as part of the Master Collection, also on Switch). Which is all well worth it!

I dabble in embroidery for fun and my husband (who's a massive Metal Gear Solid fan) asked for this as an early Christmas present. He gave me a brief - had to be Naked Snake from MGS3 in the specific uniform and so forth. But make him Chibi ✌🏻 He's already looking for a frame for it 😂
So, for your consideration, Naked Snake/Big Boss/Peace Walker. Curtsey

Blowing yourself up at the start sounds silly, but it gives me a head start in score, and paves the way for a consistent pattern leading to a really high score (Konami: 70).
Equip/unequip cancels the planting animation, and thus buys more time; same goes for Claymores (which, in this game, I hate with a passion beyond any measure). Pressing X immediately after punching cancels the punch animation.

I'm a trophy hunter and i'm currently working on the Death Stranding platinum and because of this i'm really interested in diving deep into other Hideo Kojima titles.
The only game of the franchise i've finished is MGS3 Remake and i did play a little bit of MGS5 years ago but never finished it because i was really lost in the story.
The games i'm interested in grinding thopies are both HD collections, MSG3 Remake and MGS5.
