A few songs as a tasting platter, most of these artists have a similar sound:
Magenta Mountain - King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard
Edge of the World pt. 2 - Pond
Chameleon - Dark Dazey
Fantasy - Mini Mansions
Shuggie - Foxygen
Lost in Space - Foster the People
That's my Floor - Magdalena Bay
In the Flowers - Animal Collective

Ariel Pink is such a self-absorbed failure of a human being, yet he effortlessly comes up with unique melodies and song structures like it’s second nature to him.
He has a very rare, almost supernatural musical gift, but it has come at the cost of being able to function as a decent human being.
His brain ought to be studied, not going to lie. It’s like he was born with some aspect of music theory embedded in his brain. You have to wonder if he was some insanely gifted classical composer in a past life.
It must have really pained MGMT to see a collaborator they admired end up self-destructing so badly.

Foxygen. I think they are really similar to MGMT and also take inspiration from old psych-rock. I recommend We Are the 21st Century Ambassadors of Peace & Magic, but Take the Kids Off Broadway is also good too.

Syd Barrett-era specifically. Later stuff, not so much. MGMT even covered Lucifer Sam live on TV.
And Andrew appeared in the most recent Syd Barrett documentary, Have You Got It Yet?

There's some stuff from Devendra Banhart that really sounds like mgmt to me. "Never Seen Such Good Things" is a decent example

Saw Animal Collective mentioned in someone else’s list and I just want to double down that, while not sonically twins, Animal Collective is definitely feels like the most complimentary vibe to MGMT in my life. Same goes for Panda Bear’s solo stuff, which is notably surf-ier like Congratulations is.

Flaming Lips and both use the same producer on most of their albums.

Ween is MGMT for grown-ups

Ween inspired SpongeBob, and wrote a song about tying your shoes for a SpongeBob episode. 😂

You're selling MGMT way short with that stance. Loss of Life is an incredibly refined album with adult themes and lyrics. It's also the first they've released under their own record label, free of outside influence from record executives and shareholders.

Its a joke lol. I love both. Ive seen MGMT three times in my life. I was 13 when I started listening to MGMT and i just feel like ween overall feels like the natural progression from MGMT as I personally got older.
