Why the fuck are these people doing shit like this? It's like lying on your resume and then forgetting the lie.

I asked and he said "oh I've played once or twice while drunk and it was fun"

given that I hoped for a d&d nerd like me, that was a nope

Now I’m curious. What are your favorites?

Mine are (not in order): Dominion, Forbidden Island, Azul, Kingdomino, and one I created that I will not share.

i'll copy my answer from up this thread :)

Dungeons and Dragons! I also really enjoy rare sessions of Carcassonne, and recently I've played Saboteur and liked it :)

I also like some of the easier games for nights when I can't be bothered to think (e.g. Munchkin), and long games (The Witcher Old World)

Azul is pretty :) tried it once

Carcassone is great! My kids and have enjoyed that one. I haven’t got them into Munchkin yet, but my oldest MIGHT be able to do that one now.

I’ll look into Saboteur and Witcher Old World. Have you ever played Smallworld or Scythe? Smalleworld is great with the randomness factor, but I haven’t opened up my Scythe copy yet.

Never heard of those - they might go by a different name here, I'll google them :)

Must be nice to always have a party to play :) we have an Uno-like game here that is always a hit when playing with kids. It's very easy, and instead of colours and numbers like in Uno you need to lay cards to make another person take more and more from the deck. For example, there is a card that makes you take three cards if you say something until your next turn, and so on. Fun! Goes by the name of Svintus (Свинтус) here, which translates to 'piggy' - the characters are pigs :)
