Ruined by Technology Youtube replacing comments with AI summary

Post image

Sliding the comment card left and right both shows AI crap instead of just the comments. Just give me human interactions ffs.

This isn't just a reply; it's a line in the sand that you won't cross, and that's important.

And honestly, that's a valid response.

It’s not the response, it’s the honesty.

yet you will inevitably cross it. Bc you won't at any point in your life see less ai in your life than you do right this minute

You're replying to a joke, written in the style of an AI response.

You are obviously significantly more optimistic about the future than climate data shows you have any right to be.

Climate data wasn't good before ai. with any luck the constant improvements in ai will probably lead to breakthroughs. Technology has to move forward. which it is. Ai is making business more efficient. It's working well in many sectors. People just ignore all of the great things that are happening bc they don't like summaries. They don't like dragon pictures. They don't wanna see the silly thing you made. I mean hating that part of ai, cool. Do you. But overlooking all of the positives is kind of silly.

I agree with you that in many areas of business AI/LLMs are incredibly useful.

The problem people have is that it is being forced into everything and in most cases is of little to no use. Crappy chatbots that pop up on every other website, customer service bots that pretend to be human and send you round in circles until you give up, AI generated summaries of every web page you open, every household appliance being AI powered with no real effect except data harvesting.

If it were kept to the areas it had a positive effect there wouldn't be so much of negativity and backlash towards it.

all of the things you just said I mostly agree with. The thing is even the things that I don't like, I still see them as useful. Like I can't stand those chatbots and yeah sometimes you can't get what you wan from them. But a lot of times you do get things done. And I'd rather have that at least then have "please call back during normal business hours". I mean maybe I'll end up calling anyway. But if they don't have this, i'll definitely end up calling.

I'll play devil's advocate here (and maybe contradict myself) for chatbots.

Most people don't know how to use them correctly and as such don't use them as intended. Because of this they assume they don't work, get fed up with them and the chatbots get a bad rep.

Chatbots are designed to respond to information supplied to them and if they don't get that information they can't respond accordingly. It's no different to interacting with a human. If someone tells either "my phone doesn't work" and doesn't give any other information it's incredibly difficult to help them because of the vague information.

On the other hand, if someone says "I have a Samsung phone. I'm having problems downloading apps. When I try and download an app I get error XYZ12345 after I tap the download button in the app store" there is good information there to identify and look for solutions to the problem.

9 times out of 10 if you give the chatbots good information about your query they will work.
