frist of all how DARE yu o Why, on a nearly empty train, would you sit directly in front of me— put your chair all the way back AND smell offensive? 🥲

Come on! I know I don’t own the train, I only paid for the seat. Theoretically, he could sit next to me and that would be fine. I could just move over a seat. I could move and sit next to him. Very mildly infuriated.

Update: I went to the restroom, after building up a big fart at the advice of wise Redditors but punked out on releasing it into the wild. I planned to move when I returned but he was gone! Perhaps it was a coincidence, when I left my seat with all my belongings, maybe that just happened to be his stop or maybe he was a creep. We may never know. Thanks for all your throughly hilarious responses though!

Because he's a guy and I'm assuming you're a young woman and that's just what some assholes do to women?

Not that it's justified, but I've seen enough women complaining about it that I know it's a thing.

This shit happens to my wife all the time. Fat, smelly dudes will go out of the way to get into her personal space, often unnecessarily seating themselves next to her and then manspreading. She’s absolutely unafraid of confrontation, so she always tellsthem to get out of her space, and then they spend the rest of the time sulking.

I was waiting in a medical office, seated in a chair, and this man needed to see a sign that was behind me on the wall. He decided to put his crotch in my face about a foot away and I turned away. He decided to tell me that I was all right like the dang crocodile hunter.

Ok, im confused about that, if I really wanted to read the sign, id just ask the person in front of it about it, but that last part, I dont get it? Did he put his crotch in your face and than hit on you, or did he see you turn away and decide that was the perfect excuse to say something weird? I dont get people sometimes.

He saw how I was uncomfortable (by my shifting position away from him) and decided to tell me I was fine with him there, so close to my face. It's not up to him to say I'm fine, that's my decision. He was invading my space.
