Do u dont wanna Passenger manspreading into my space on a flight then acts like I inconvenienced him🤷‍♀️

I early 20F sat in the middle seat next to a male on my flight. I had no issue with this however he was literally manspreading into my space. His leg was stretched out into my leg space and when I tried to give him hints to move he completely ignored me. He was very much taking up my space and making me feel crazy like this cannot be happening.

After a bit of not picking up my subtle hints I told him to move. To which he looked at me like I had significantly inconvenienced him. He then gave a slight eye roll and moved finally giving me space.

I hate this shit. They spread onto women's spaces and women themselves, and rarely do this to men. Then when we talk about it, men will lecture women about how this isn't a real phenomenon because it doesn't happen to them 🙄 (and if it does, it must be the women's fault).

The manspreaders usually magically remember what personal space is when a man sits next to them. 🙄

I do it right back. Im always cold and I don’t mind a good cuddle. I lean all up into them from toe to shoulder and get nice and comfy. Hunker down for a nap.

Once they realize I’m in it for the long haul, they start to compact up. Sometimes I give them the surprised/annoyed look. “Oh, we arent sharing space?! My mistake! I was just following your lead.”

I always make it more uncomfortable for them than it is for me.

No they do it to me all the time and I'm a man. Women and men do it and they do it to women and men, it's not a gender thing, it's a person thing but the internet decided it needed yet another excuse to attack men.

A woman tries to lower seat into my space every single time I’m on a flight

That's disingenuous BS. I'm a big man (6'3" and muscular), and between the size of my thigh muscles and the size of my genitalia, I don't have much room to squeeze my legs together and sit. I try to avoid sitting next to strangers out of courtesy, but I can't magically change my anatomy at will when someone who doesn't know what it's like to have those proportions is inconvenienced when I spread just to fit in seats.

I am also 6'3", and have muscles, and I can sit with my knees together without crushing my balls. Practice at home if you need to.

Sounds like you should be paying for two seats when you take a plane in that case. I believe some airlines offer a person of size policy which you could utilise.

That way you can also safely avoid inconveniencing anyone who is unfortunate enough to be seated next to you. I assume you are not offering to reimburse them given you are actively encroaching on the space they have paid for?

It's not as bad as some of the obese people that sat next to me, making me physically have to lean the opposite way, but leg room is an issue and I have to spread my legs a bit so (A) my knees don't get crushed and (B) my balls don't get flattened. If I had my leg literally in the footwell of the seat next to me, yes that's unnecessary and anybody would be rightfully pissed if that happened to them. But I'm only talking about not being able to make my shoes touch. If someone is offended that I can't fully clamp my legs together and cut off circulation to my testicles, that sounds like they're just looking for an excuse to fan the flames of male hatred and complain about the epidemic of "manspreading" without acknowledging that a bit of spread is physically necessary for some men to be able to sit in certain situations. I just feel like despite many instances of men doing horrific and shitty things in recent headlines, any and every thing a man does is being disproportionately picked apart and ridiculed.

Again, if you are unable to fit within the confines of a single airplane seat without physically encroaching into the space of the person sitting next to you, for whatever reason, you should be buying two seats instead of making the size of your body someone else’s problem.

Im 6ft9… i apologise straight up as they sit down next to me cause I physically cant close my legs and have to stretch out to fit. And im in pain the entire flight. This is if I can’t secure an exit seat, or i dont have the funds to pay for anything better than economy… sucks
