Damn, you really have gone overboard with tipping culture in the US, havent you...

Maybe this is what is needed for them to finally break the cycle.

When we went in 2007 it was 15% was a "normal" tip, 20% for exceptional service. When we were there a few years ago that had gone up to 18/20% "normal" 25/30% exceptional.

Give it a few more years and people are going to start balking at 50% tips on their bills. I think the fact that all these POS systems now have tip options in places that never had expected tips before (like fast food/street food trucks etc) is making people realise how dumb the whole thing is.

It doesn't even make sense.  Prices go up, so percentages will go up too.  How is 15% not good enough?

10% of $10.00 is $1.00. 10% of $15.00 is $1.50. Prices go up. Percentages don’t.

Corpos and business owners are greedy so the wages of employees have lowered in percentage in comparison to inflation

The wages have been entirely tips all along, with $2 or something wage per hour for people making $20-30+ per hour.

There's no reason to go up from 10% to 20% baseline for inflation, because 10% already went up directly in line with inflation.
