Lmao I saw the white pawn move up and I was absolutely sure the next move was going to be an en passant and OP was new to chess and didn’t know it was allowed.
I…did not expect that.

How do you want to play "en passant" in this situation? None of the pawns are adjacent.

I wasn’t looking at the board that closely, just saw the pawns pushing towards each other

Personally, I just made the assumption it would be en passant because it’s about the most obscure thing in chess. I don’t even know what it is, I just know of it and that it involves a specific setup with the pawns.

Drop it. Don't play a fuck up, find a good chess game. Back 20 years ago when I was in high-school I would look for chess games all the time. The ones that interested me most were smoothest play, simple settings, giving me more value than playing in person. I really enjoyed ones that played like the Harry Potter version.
A straight up illegal move? Hell no. I'd drop that game in a second. That is terrible design. How can that be in the game for 15 years? Unless it's a bug from the newest update... but I'd be scrapping it after that.

Maybe its bad programming, or maybe its the AI becoming sentient and refusing to lose.

So is this staged or did it use an LLM to make moves and just...accepted what it said?
