You can probably guess what year it was.

People who are too cheap and lacking self awareness to use AI to avoid commissioning a real graphic design house are the same people who will never actually pay money for a dedicated AI service for these tasks. They just go to ChatGPT and take whatever the cheapest and fastest model spits out.

By default, what comes out of AI is the average of its training data.

Mind you, you can get amazing stuff out of it, but you need to steer it properly otherwise you’ll just get the average.

This is everywhere. I spent a week in the Adirondack Mountains in NY and I think every restaurant we went to had AI generated promotional material. Not the menus, but the fall events/specials/hours were all clearly AI generated. These are small town diners, delis, and full service restaurants with small budgets and smaller margins, but I would much rather see a hand written special board than that slop.
