humankind hiccups šŸ˜… Well this aged like milk.

Post image

Stumbled upon this while clearing out the attic.

She visited my primary school in Edinburgh shortly after releasing TPS. The girl in front of me (my friend and train-to-school comrade) was Southeast Asian and has an incredibly elaborate sounding name. When Joanne screwed up her face when my friend gave her her name for the signature, I laughed. This is how she decided to sign my copy.

I was laughing at you, JK.

EDIT: It’s on EBay.

It was about that time that I noticed u/DeadpointClimbs was eight stories tall and was a crustacean from the protozoic era.

I gave him a dollar.

1

u/DaStone May 02 '26

I don't believe you posses the book or the ability to auction it off.

I'd easily pay 5 million Zimbabwean Dollars

1

u/benaugustine May 02 '26

I'd to 100 trillion Zimbabwe dollars

179

u/FatiguedShrimp May 02 '26

Yeah... I'm nonbinary. I understand what you mean.

Maybe considering donating it to a trans rights charity to auction? They'd probably be able to get decent money from the spectacle, and it would help to undo some of the harm.

68

Someone created a burner to respond to this.

60

8

u/Ok-Station6072 May 02 '26

Shared with Graham Linehan.

2

u/mankytoes May 02 '26

There's a legitimate chance it could be Graham Linehan.

1

u/CallMeChristopher May 02 '26

I think that means his wife gets custody for like 1/4 the week.

His wife? Guys that talk like this are secretly on Grindr because the people he surrounds himself with have made him ashamed of his own sexual desires.

Yeah especially considering he's posting other dicks and trying to pass them off as his own. I'm sure some of those are him but if you look through the ones that aren't repeated on other subs, there's multiple tells not all of those are his. Now comes the question how is he obtaining those photos?

This is a new tactic, where a burner creates and deletes a message to avoid moderation. This is a way of ensuring moderators have an opportunity to block this account, and documenting it on record.

It's equivalent to the Reddit Cares of the past.

1

u/DoinSideQuests May 02 '26

Incredible idea

1

u/SeriousBuzzKill May 02 '26

I don’t know many trans people who would want to buy this. That is the only issue. Maybe sell it privately and then donate the money?

1

u/FatiguedShrimp May 02 '26

It wouldn't have to sell to trans people, but be sold for a trans cause as stated.

1

u/Pathetic_Old_Moose May 02 '26

Op should get value for it. As much as donating it is a nice idea.

Money.

0

u/Maptotheepichorrors May 02 '26

Did she hurt you?

2

u/FatiguedShrimp May 02 '26

Yes, actually. She personally funded advocacy which led to adoption of ideology and spread of practices which created conditions of criminal abuse of myself and my siblings. It's why I ended up in foster care.

2

u/Maptotheepichorrors May 02 '26

Could you elaborate and educate me about what ideology that was adapted and what practices you mean? ( yes the question is genuine ) foster care seems like it is an abolishment and a crime against humanity/human rights in ways i cannot even fathom or dare begin to speak of, i lack words to express my sadness to hear that fate befell both you and your siblings.

2

u/FatiguedShrimp May 02 '26 edited May 02 '26

She funded a conversion therapy campaign, which was adopted in my region.

I was sexually abused, and my siblings physically abused as part of their "conversion therapy" attempts.

I was also completely denied food for /three months/. My BMI after the police raid was below the first percentile. I have life-long neuro-cardiac issues as a result.

3

u/Maptotheepichorrors May 02 '26

Oh my! I genuinely did not know of this; however, I have cried myself through so many documentaries about conversion therapy. I am sorry that you had to see just how evil humanity can be at such a young age.

I do not know many people that identify as either trans or non-binary, but I have had so many friends that have not been heterosexual throughout my youth and the majority of my life, I have learned many things from some of those individuals, but most important, without a doubt, is; that love is love is love. I think the second would be that some things in life you do not choose, even when those things are about you as an individual and can make up so much of who you are every day of your life, however painful those things may be, you simply cannot choose them or change them if you would want to.

And that of course, makes it endlessly important to be able to just be able to be you as you are, without having to fight for it.

Today, you deepened my understanding of something important. It was not your job to educate me, but I am genuinely grateful that you did so anyway.

1

u/Realistic-Ad-9483 May 02 '26

Idk much about her, but she seems kewl—I’ll give you three fiddy

1

u/BigPhatVideos May 02 '26

Why do you despise her?

1

u/Sad_Mistake6706 May 02 '26

Why do you hate JK?

2

u/Rosmariinihiiri May 02 '26

Because Joanne is spending millions to fund anti-trans lobbying in the UK and els3where to make trans people's life unlivable. (e.g. she directly funded a campaingn that managed to make it illegal for trans people to use toilets at their workplaces in the UK. yey!)

1

u/Sad_Mistake6706 May 02 '26

Why doesn't she like trans?

1

u/RainbowPhoenix1080 May 02 '26

Because she's a bitter and terrible person who can't stand the idea of people who are different from her being able to live their lives.

1

u/Sad_Mistake6706 May 02 '26

One day she woke up and just waged a war against trans people.

1

I guess, yeah.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/RainbowPhoenix1080 May 02 '26

Because she's using her fame and wealth to continually opress and spread hate against transgender people.

1

u/enjoythesilence-75 May 02 '26

Better to just burn it.

1

u/Arrakis_Surfer May 02 '26

In all honesty, this post is valuable. Go get it certified and written to go with the book, THEN sell

1

u/Aniria_ May 02 '26

The only person who will buy this now are either people who agree with her, or people who are indifferent

A signature like this one is cool to keep hold of as it shows her disgusting levels of hypocrisy

If you still want to sell it, trya Nd find someone in these comments, to sell it to, as many here hate her, and would still like this signature for what it represents

1

u/batchef3000 May 02 '26

Why is everyone hating on jk rowling? Did I miss something? Genuinely, haven’t ever been a fan, but haven’t heard anything bad about her?

1

u/FatiguedShrimp May 02 '26

She advocates against transgender people and for conversion therapy. Conversion therapy is an aversive (pain based) treatment which is condemned by most reputable medical bodies. Most organizations that practice it are found to abuse minors in the process.

1

u/RainbowPhoenix1080 May 02 '26

She donates her wealth to hate groups that are campaigning to strip transgender people of their rights.

1

u/Methmatician72 May 02 '26

Whats wrong with JK ?

1

u/RainbowPhoenix1080 May 02 '26

She uses her wealth to fund anti-LGBTQ hate groups and she uses her social media platform to spread hate against transgender people.

1

u/Lukazz97 May 02 '26

You should definitely sell it , many places and people would give you very good money for it . I wouldn’t listen to any of these people about donating the book to them charities , that’s crazy

1

u/Imsofuckenhorny May 02 '26

Oh thank you lol even I'm not a fan but to throw away- what a waste of a way to just upset jo

1

u/perpetualmotionmachi May 02 '26

If you sell it, do are the money to a pro trans charity I see her name, so she receives the tax receipt and sees it. (Although I'm sure it would just go to an accountant and she'd not see it, but it's the intent of the act that matters )

1

u/jonallin May 02 '26

Still gonna sell at a profit though right?

1

u/Cultural-Pen-4-Men May 02 '26

If you don't need the money, consider contacting the artist Tai Ericsson about donating your copy.

https://www.instagram.com/reel/DNWx2QSNU17/?igsh=cjZqcTliMnlqZmFz

1

u/shite_in_a_bucket May 02 '26

Donate it to an organisation that deals specifically with Trans issues/individuals, so they can make a quid from it. It's what she would have wanted!

1

u/IntelligentAnybody55 May 02 '26

I’d pay a lot for that, just for the political message (I already have an old set). How’re you selling it? Because just dumping it would be missing out on a bag

1

u/valerioshi May 02 '26

How much are you selling it for?

1

u/JustMex95 May 02 '26

Take it off you gladly how much?

1

u/Remote-Complaint-450 May 02 '26

Please let me know if you ever decide to auction or sell I just love Harry Potter so much

1

u/powlfnd May 02 '26

Maybe Lavender Menace would want it? They could use donations right now

1

u/CouldItGetAnyWorsexx May 02 '26

Idc about the downvotes or ban. The arrogance you carry is insane. Who tf are you? This woman created something b that so many (not me) people love and you have an amazing version of what many people (not me) worship which is a unique connection to them. Yet you come on here and act holier than thou when you’re a worse person than her because she lives/loves her truth while you live whatever is currently acceptable to live. I remember when we used to accept each other’s quirks but now we HAVE TO accept certain people’s quirks OR ELSE.

1

u/striatedsumo7 May 02 '26

How much are you asking? Im not joking.

1

u/Expert_City_7695 May 02 '26

1

u/tunedsleeper May 02 '26

I’m just curious

1

u/Papasnu1055 May 02 '26

1

u/waiha May 02 '26

1

u/eiiiaaaa May 02 '26

If you sell it maybe you can give the proceeds to a trans charity? JK would love that /s

1

u/Severe_Rise8694 May 02 '26

I don't really get the hate for her. Probably around 90% of people share her views on trans issues.

1

u/blomba2 May 02 '26

You ok kid?

1

u/Anonymous26011 May 02 '26

Could you sell it, and donate the proceeds to a trans supporting fund?

0

u/CrabNo5226 May 02 '26

Please give it to me I want to ironically gift this to my friend with a weird name (huge former fan, now hater)

0

u/hey-there-buddd May 02 '26

I’ll take it off your hands!

0

u/Dabuums May 02 '26

Despise? Really? How can anyone despise someone they dont even know? Just because you heard some words online?

1

u/FatiguedShrimp May 02 '26

She funds conversion therapy advocacy, despite the fact that the funded organizations are regularly found to commit abuse against minors.

That's the context.

1

u/RainbowPhoenix1080 May 02 '26

Because of her own words and actions. Like donating money to campaigna that are actively trying to strip away rights from transgender people.

-1

u/realitycheckbitches May 02 '26

I'll buy it i dont let politics choose what I enjoy. People still enjoy Picasso's work and he was a misogynist. Same with any famouse things. People are flawed even if there masterpieces are amazing.

2

u/elzibet May 02 '26

Did he ever start a foundation that actively hurt women?

0

u/joey-jo_jo-jr May 02 '26

If it turns out Charles Dickens was actually Jack the Ripper, should we stop reading his books?

2

u/undead_sissy May 02 '26

No, because he is not alive and is not benefiting from the sale of his books. J K Rowling is alive and is actively using her wealth from the sale of HP products to fund UK hate groups. That's the difference.

0

u/joey-jo_jo-jr May 02 '26

JK Rowling will not benefit from the sale of the book pictured...

2

u/undead_sissy May 02 '26

No she won't, but this is the argument for not buying HP products in general and demonstrates how it is different from enjoying the work of Picasso or buying a Charles Dickens book. I wouldn't have any problem with OP selling this book.

2

u/OmegaLevelTran May 02 '26

Like she has said herself that people consuming HP media is a measure for how much people are actually ok with her ideas and the other comment that I saw about "Well what 'hate groups'" she literally has a website that is live right now for funding court cases in the UK and Ireland that are about attacking trans people's rights under the guise of women's rights.

0

u/joey-jo_jo-jr May 02 '26

No this conversation is about OP selling this book lol. Learn to read

Empathy doesn't have to be political, it's merely a minimum amount of human decency (or tolerance if you can't muster it).

I honestly believe there are enough artists out there who aren't complete POS that you could find something else without having to support the most outstanding examples of shitty behaviors. JK Rowling is one of the easiest authors out there to leave on the shelf.

Horrible people may be able to create beautiful works, but buying their art tells the artist and others that the behavior is acceptable. I don't care if you buy secondhand or pirate and enjoy it in private, but I believe separating art from artist is disingenuous.

While I absolutely disagree with the person disposing of it instead of giving it to someone or selling it, it’s not as simple as it being someone’s ā€œthoughts and opinions.ā€ She doesn’t think a whole group of people should exist and actively fights against them

1

u/RainbowPhoenix1080 May 02 '26

She actively donates money to conversion therapy programs and hate groups who campaign to strip transgender people of their rights.

It's more than "thoughts and opinions". She is actively doing harm.
