The wig makes it so much worse.

Oh my god!!! You just brought me instant joy reminding me of that classic.

Robot has no regerts
54
u/RonaldTheGiraffe Jun 03 '26
He does. He looks panicked and backs away. Looks around him and looks to be preparing to run off. It’s scarily human. It’s actually displaying regret.
This topped with a clown wig terrifies me.

If this happened in Philly that robot would be torn to pieces.

u/PerfectAdeptness5603 Jun 04 '26
To be fair Philly folks just be tearing shit to pieces for the love of the game

My dad reflex would be to instantly kick this robot into the next fucking century.
7
u/traplords8n Jun 04 '26
Oh that'd be a fun court case if it got to that.
Do you have the right to fight a humanoid robot if it accidentally hits your kid?
7
u/Grand_Help_3035 Jun 04 '26
It's a fucking machine. You might create property damage but there's no moral problem here.
3
u/Unlikely-Answer Jun 05 '26
it will also create headlines and that judge is balls deep in NVDA and TSLA
0
u/traplords8n Jun 04 '26
I agree, but the courts have a way of getting caught up in the details. I imagine it's very likely they'd sit there and argue about whether the robot can even provoke a "violent" response from somebody.
-4
u/SpaceJackRabbit Jun 04 '26
You know it's funny, I was wondering what would happen if someone packing heat would decide to empty a mag into it.
Shooter would probably not be criminally charged in the U.S., but then would he sued in a civil case to oblivion by the robot company.
1
u/traplords8n Jun 04 '26
Oh I'd stick to fighting it in any country 🤣 there's kids around man. You'd be put away for a decade or two.
You'd probably get no criminal charges and a damn compelling case in civil court if you just fight it or kick the shit out of it and break it. Hell the company would likely not want to sue you in fear of public outrage 🤣

u/musclecard54 Jun 04 '26
You’d just break your foot. And of course it’s the robots fault the kid is standing right in its path…

u/PurifyZ Jun 03 '26
At 17 seconds the guy holding his kid acting like it’s such a cool robot… bruh get goin!!

u/ScaryButt Jun 03 '26
Why does nobody go to help him!? There are adults there just watching!?
26
u/Panthera2k1 Jun 03 '26
I mean what is there to do? The kid got the wind knocked out of him, he’ll be ok when he catches his breath. Random strangers rushing over and panicking is just going to freak him out unnecessarily.
40
u/rockhopper2154 Jun 03 '26
No need to panic, but there's no telling how much force is in that kick. Hopefully not much, but kid could have internal bleeding.
21
u/LPNMP Jun 04 '26
Oh no worries. Thats where the blood is supposed to be.
3
u/Arbazio Jun 04 '26
Oh looky heeere, smarty doctorpants showing off their brains!
1
1
u/Panthera2k1 Jun 04 '26
We saw ten seconds after the kick. One adult is checking on him already, they’re not going to find out if he has internal bleeding in that time. Regardless, what kind on injury he get is an entirely different conversation that I can bet none of us are qualified nor have the information for
26
u/ScaryButt Jun 03 '26
He could've had a rib broken with that kick.
Even so a "hey buddy are you okay" wouldn't go amiss
17
u/lawkktara Jun 03 '26
As a pretengineer of automation and robotics... yeah this could easily be internal bleeding. That shit was accelerating FAST in the last third of that kick. There's a reason there are so many engineered protections in production environments.

u/ComprehensiveCup7104 Jun 04 '26
It looked like robot gave kid a good Foot-pound (energy) - Wikipedia)

u/Mahoka572 Jun 03 '26
With my parents it would have gone "Did that hurt? Good. Stupid should hurt. Now stand back here with us like I told you."

u/ScaryButt Jun 03 '26 edited Jun 03 '26
I'm genuinely really sorry you had that upbringing.

u/oneshadeoff Jun 04 '26
🙄
1
u/TokugawaTabby Jun 04 '26
Lmao and we wonder why kids never learn consequences with attitudes like hers
1
u/Panthera2k1 Jun 04 '26 edited Jun 04 '26
That’s exactly what it looks like what’s going on at the end there, he gets pulled away by a kid towards a woman that is checking on him.
Just because he wasn’t swarmed every single adult in the plaza isn’t some moral failing by everyone else there. We saw ten seconds after a mishap, if it was more serious they didn’t realize by then and as such wouldn’t have acted yet.
-9
u/a355231 Jun 03 '26
I can guarantee you that kick was nowhere near strong enough to break a rib.
1
u/Murky_Astronaut Jun 04 '26
I can guarantee you that kick was nowhere near strong enough to break a rib.
You can't. But for fun, go for it: lay it out for us. Show your work.

u/Dangermouse454 Jun 03 '26
Kids going to be OK. This will be a turning point in his life, where he starts training to combat robots. He will be the future leader of the resistance, tearing down AI data centers and destroying robots. His name was John Conner.
1
u/Panthera2k1 Jun 04 '26
Robo Sam Altman is going to come from the future to make sure the robot killed him

u/Fweenci Jun 04 '26
Why does nobody back up or pull their kids away after seeing that? Everyone's like, "welp."

u/MrDo1982 Jun 03 '26
It’s probably China where this happened. They have some weird laws about helping people. People will get run over/hit by cars and no one will help them. Seen videos where someone gets run over, the person puts it in reverse and goes over them again just for good measure. It’s a strange world out there
3
u/Vritrin Jun 04 '26
China has Good Samaritan laws, you can (and are encouraged to) help people as a bystander.

It’s showing off human movements while also its maneuverability. Basically a demo
17
u/Warlock_protomorph Jun 03 '26
We put down dogs when they bite kids. This robot should be publicly dismantled.

u/Zorian_Vale Jun 04 '26
Could this be controlled by a human? The way it aggressively lunges quick towards the end..

u/GraniteCapybara Jun 04 '26
I can't believe robots are even taking away all of our child kicking jobs. When will this madness end!

The people who make robots like kicking and punching. The people who don't make robots are cooking and cleaning.

u/vox1028 Jun 04 '26
The fact that the crowd just absorbs the kicked child and continues to watch the robot, without even taking a step back, is crazy to me. If I was watching this and saw the robot kick a kid, I would immediately nope out of there. Clearly not a safe demonstration

I don’t understand why lack of situational awereness is so normalized these days
5
u/AlexanderStockholmes Jun 04 '26
Interesting video. It says a lot.
The robot seemed like it was gonna run. Like "Oh fuck... they're gonna kill me..." Eerily human response.
The people had no response. The lights were on, but nobody was home. Eerily robotic response.
I genuinely believe that if the AI uprising happens, it'll start there with 0 resistance.

This is a routine programmed to be selected with a remote. I am sure there is a man with a remote standing nearby. If he started the routine by clicking, the routine of the robot will run, without any sensory of the surrounding. If there is something in the way of the routine, so be(at) it

What if machines consider that the outline of a person is a threat and then attack it, but by installing a margin of error they instead attack a human? That's how they destroy humanity.

u/SILE3NCE Jun 05 '26
See?
Remember the principles of robotics?
None of them are being applied, there was no human safety process.
We're beyond the gate of safety, we're cooked.
