I still can’t believe a man who looked like that thought he was part of a master race.

The guy on the right is also russian

79

u/Kaleidoscope_97 6d ago

He may even be fertilizer in Ukraine now! 😊

43

u/LogOk6960 6d ago

Unironically most Russian neonazis would do anything to avoid going to the front They'd feel far more comfortable spreading hate on the internet Same thing with Ukraine, both sides pretty much claim to be against fascism, yet those fascists are exactly the ones who aren't dying

3

u/bsensikimori 1d ago

Isn't not wanting to go to the front a sign of a well adjusted human?

Seems wanting to go to the front, actively pursuing becoming a murderer, is worrying.

1

u/Rugens 2d ago

It's funny how inaccurate you are. The biggest and most notable Russian volunteer unit fighting for Ukraine, RVC, is about as white nationalist as it gets. The Third Corps is led by literally Biletskiy and is the most notable Ukrainian unit.

3

u/Avandalon 3d ago

God willing

5

u/crimsonhn 6d ago edited 6d ago

On either side too... I don't know why is there an irony that the place that fought them off became the place with most Nazis on Earth.

Ukraine especially is the ground for Nazi music scenes, for example. Virtually all of NSBM band is either Finnish or Ukrainian (some Polish and German). Militant Russian neo-nazis are mostly based in Ukraine and fighting with Ukraine too.

5

u/WorkerPrestigious960 6d ago

No most militant Russian neo-Nazis are not fighting with** **Ukraine. That is an absurd assertion

2

u/Foreign-Lychee-723 4d ago

Russian bots are back online, that explains the absurdness

5

u/output_broadcast 6d ago

IIRC the first university founded after Ukrainian independence was MAUP, which has the express purpose to deny the Holocaust.

9

u/Poonis5 6d ago edited 6d ago

MAUP was founded in Soviet Union. Modern MAUP has no antisemitism.

No major Ukrainians universities do. I studied in 2 of them. Study material is EU-oriented and liberal.

Virtually all of NSBM band is either Finnish or Ukrainian.

That's simply not true. Ryan Buesnel's research on NSBM networks from 1988 to 2016 concluded that the NSBM scene depends on a small number of influential hubs and many peripheral countries, not that one particular country definitively has the most bands.

Ukraine became the place with most nazis on Earth.

Ukraine has zero nazi parties, parliament members, laws or government programs.

Hate crimes are happening in record numbers in EU. Jews get attacked, mosques get vandalized. Far right parties get sits in parliaments. But not in Ukraine.

But I guess as real nazis said: "A lie repeated a thousand times becomes truth" and Ukraine becomes the most nazi place on earth while in reality polling as least antisemitic country in the region. Ranking even lower than parts of EU.

4

u/EctomorphicShithead 6d ago

How does one even take on so much cope? Yes let’s pretend the state where nationalism is explicitly tied to defeating Hitler is actually the one absorbing neonazi paramilitaries into its national guard.

I have no love for Putin, nor his utterly corrupt liquidation of state function for the service of oligarchs, nor his illegal invasion of Ukraine. That doesn’t negate the well established history of Ukrainian nationalists’ cooperation with and celebration of Nazis, their collaborators, and their present day fanboy fight clubs.

3

u/Act_Willing 5d ago

Wagner was founded by a neo nazi and is named after hitlers favorite composer you fucking idiot.

The Soviet Union didn’t used to teach about ww2 the same way we did. Instead of being taught the nazis invaded so and so village and rounded up and murdered 2000 Jews, they were told that the nazis invaded, rounded up and murdered 2000 Russians.

Ukrainian Nazis are anti Russian. Russian Nazis are anti semite/liberal

3

u/crimsonhn 5d ago edited 5d ago

Agree on the history of Wagner but tf, you are romanticising Ukrainian Nazis as simply anti-Russian warriors only? There were records of fatal attacks against Romanis, Jews, and non-white people committed by them during WWII and in the modern era. That's not to mention they house the worst of Russian nazis, especially Nkitin.

And Nazis are Nazis. Racism (including antisemitism) and anti-liberalism are the core of their ideologies. The only difference is what nation they serve. If there's Rusich and RIM of Russia, there's RVC (or RDC), GVC, Azov, and a bunch more. Both led by the sickest humans possible (Rusich is a puppy-eating maniac, and RVC is a football hooligan who also targets immigrants).

u/Poonis5 5d ago

Thank you.

1

u/EctomorphicShithead 5d ago

One state legitimizes nazi paramilitaries as sections of its national guard, the other (it too being a neoliberal oligarchy sapped from dragging around a gutted wad of long-dead civic branches) has a potpourri of private mercenary firms. In that aspect it is not too unlike the US, where the general flow of industrial murder machinery continues the “patriotic” tradition in service of domestic oligarchy.

It’s an obviously pitiful mockery of the anti fascist history and sacrifice made by peoples and nations previously united with a positive project of social development, dignity and justice.

And it sounds like you’re trying to paint Ukrainian Nazis as somehow also not particularly anti-Semitic, or at least not as bad as the Russian Nazis...? Are you out of your mind?

1

u/EmergencyPool910 4d ago

Also Rusich, this dude is a moron.

1

u/EmergencyPool910 4d ago

Uh, Rusich, Wagner? Are we being deadass?

1

u/output_broadcast 5d ago

Maybe it wasn't MAUP then, which one did Duke give a speech at?

While someone may be saying "Slay a dragon, become a dragon." I believe that issue is soviet union being bad from the start. Let's not forget it's just repainted russian empire and that soviet union quickly found common tongue with nazi germany as another barbaric outcast. Then nazi germany betrayed soviet union and so, soviet union switched sides. Were fighting nazis a good thing? Yes. Would it turn the one who fights them into a good guy automatically? Not at all.

1

u/Ok-Dependent-8885 1d ago

Unironically, many Russian Nazis ran away to fight in RDK on Ukrainian side and died during the Belgorod Failure, now they are fertilizers in the Belgorod oblast.

The 'untermensch' guy on the left looks like a bloke I might see down the pub. He'd be called Steve and would usually be seen cradling a pint of Stella.

47

u/CattleMobile8761 6d ago edited 6d ago

Think of it the other way around....they were seeking to compensate for something they felt inadequate about.

There were a lot of jokes about it at the time too.

8

u/Status_Fox_1474 6d ago

Hey, he was a hero. Shot the most even person in the world, who was hiding in a bunker like a coward.

1

u/Sure_Preference2000 3d ago

Hitler won several medals for bravery in WW1 along with being wounded multiple times. “Heroic” isn’t really an own against him considering his military history

4

u/AffectionateDesk2918 6d ago

He wasn't a bad looking man

6

u/Cum_Fart42069 5d ago

this trend of calling Nazis out for being ugly is a Celtic knot of irony lmao.

maybe they are ugly, maybe they're hot as fuck, who cares, the bad part is the NAZI part.

2

u/AncientPossibility5 2d ago edited 2d ago

Nonsense. Surely they're bad due to not being genetically perfect. /s

1

u/Few_Dot6881 1d ago

GĂśring during WW1 btw

1

u/TitleResponsible8203 20h ago

When the point of their agenda is that they are genetically superior, I think pointing out their looks is completely valid. Especially, since they look nothing like what they claim is "superior".

1

u/Cum_Fart42069 9h ago

I disagree because doing so accepts the logic of the Nazis. you can't call someone out for being ugly without inherently saying that being ugly is something to be called out. you're just agreeing with them but saying that actually they're the ugly ones when in reality a person being traditionally unattractive shouldn't have any bearing on how important they are or how seriously they're taken.

I think they're bad because they're Nazis, not because they're ugly.

2

u/Adventurous-Web-412 6d ago

Yeah I am a bit confused. Hes not a stunner but he looks grand.

2

u/maelbowfeelfunny 3d ago

You're joking.

1

u/Vegetable-Dog444 3d ago

Makes Stephen Miller look like a Chad

1

u/Professional-Fun-838 5d ago

He also wasn’t “superior” looking. He was average. If you can’t see the irony in that, I can’t help you.

3

u/hellogoodbyegoodbye 4d ago

He was attractive? The thing counter to Nazi ideology is his clubbed foot…

1

u/Any_Entertainer_7122 4d ago

He was a narcissist, he tried to look good with expensive clothing, extensive body grooming, etc. But he looked pretty awful as he got older and the war broke out. He had to work hard for his propaganda.

3

u/thebriss22 4d ago

Lol the entire Nazi high command was pretty much a festival of losers, sociopaths and drug addicts

1

u/StupidSexyEuphoberia 3d ago

No need to compare me to the nazi leadership :(

1

u/thebriss22 3d ago

Unless you are a pig farmer or a heroin addict you're better off 😂

18

u/Patient_Catch_9278 6d ago

Now we are demonizing a very normal look due to them being racist?

(Thats not even an ugly face for the time. It just doesnt follow their own "superior" standard)

29

u/Professional-Fun-838 6d ago

“Thats not even an ugly face for the time. It just doesn't follow their own "superior" standard”

Which was exactly my point. He doesn’t look like their image of the supposed “superior“ master race.

2

u/AppleBetPoop 5d ago

When you read the history they often don't think they were part of the master race, but were setting about creating it i.e the Aryan.

Some of them (like Joseph Mengele) actually thought Jewish people were the only race who were a threat to said future master race and that's why they had to be 'studied' and killed.

2

u/hellogoodbyegoodbye 4d ago edited 4d ago

He does? For nazis Aryan wasn’t when “blonde and blue eyed”.

For example, Hitler was an aryan for them (although he did have blue eyes, contrary to popular myth). That would be the equally nonsensical “Nordic” race, a subgroup of aryans. Hitler was tainted with some “alpine” aryan blood. Same with Goebbles. But the idea was to make a pure Nordic race by exterminating and subjugating all others.

It’s not *that* self contradictory, which is why it became as dangerous and popular as it was.

2

u/Environmental-Pop-67 5d ago

Nazi is ideology based on being better just by existing not looking.

3

u/Professional-Fun-838 5d ago

No, they were also obsessed with physical appearance. They had entire guides explaining how physical appearance could determine whether someone was truly aryan. Example: Nazi anthropologist Eugen Fischer believed in craniometry. He used a device to measure the dimensions of the human head to catagorize what he deemed was an Aryan skull shape. They had “racial experts” with toolkits including eye color and hair color charts who claimed they could determine who was Aryan.

There is a reason their propaganda always portrayed tall, athletic, blonde, blue-eyed people. Which is deeply ironic given that so few of the high ranking Nazis fit that ”superior“ ideal.

1

u/Environmental-Pop-67 4d ago

Yea but even they didnt belive it. Like you are too focused on the rules that dont matter. Rules are there to be broken and when they are they allow for force and violence to be commited. If you do it to "protect the rules" you are a good person if you do ir for sake of it evil. Those tools are there to help their narrative of violence.

1

u/Sure_Preference2000 3d ago

The “physical appearance” attributes that could be measured that you are talking about had nothing to do with looking attractive.

It was legitimate measurements that change along racial lines. The same way scientists and anthropologists can determine the race of a person based off of skeletal remains only.

25

He looks like what I imagine a rat would look like in human form, if that makes any sense.

Edit: found that contemporary propaganda would often depict him as a rat too, so maybe I am not the only one who got that impression.

10

u/MegaJackUniverse 5d ago

Yeah, it's calling "judging somebody by their physical appearance like a 5 year old".

You're only saying that because you know how evil this man was

6

u/Imaginary-Piece-3947 5d ago

Why have an entire judiciary system when people online can judge the evilness of people by looking at a single photo?

2

u/dev_ating 4d ago

I have news for you. We call it "judging someone by their actions". I guarantee you that he would be judged more kindly if he hadn't been a gross nazi and cheerleader for genocide and warfare that destroyed large parts of Europe.

3

u/Imaginary-Piece-3947 4d ago

The comment in question is "he looks evil in the first picture".

I don't see how one could interpret it in any other way than the guy being judged on the basis of his physical appearance.

I mean it's just good old "confirmation bias" so nothing quite deep really but it's still interesting that people may think you're evil just because you look german.

1

u/dev_ating 4d ago

I think contextual knowledge is a better word than confirmation bias when you actually know that he was a genocide-supporting liar.

1

u/Imaginary-Piece-3947 4d ago

There are serial killers that look like lovely people and there are also "evil looking" people who have a beautiful character.

My point is that you can't say that someone has "evil eyes" or whatever because there is no direct correlation between one's physical appearance and their character.

Now could you imagine if someone who looked like Goebbels were to read their comment? Personally I have friends with similar facial structure to him and they are some of the most gentle people I know.

1

u/dev_ating 4d ago

The thing is that right here we also know that he is effectively being antisemitic towards the photographer from the framing of the post down to the side by side comparison it makes.

This is like putting two images of Ted Bundy, one where he looks like a model and one where he's effectively looking at someone like they are prey, next to each other, with a similar subject heading. You kind of produce a judgment of a person's appearance on those photographs that way.

I personally have no fear of what you're arguing would happen if someone were to see this because I believe that people looking like him don't suffer from grave online hatred to the degree that it could truly harm them. I'm from a German speaking country and I can confidently tell you, most people can thankfully easily distinguish between a long dead nazi and themselves.

→ More replies (0)

1

u/dev_ating 4d ago

I think posthumously you're allowed to call Goebbels someone who looks evil based on your knowledge of him. It's different to do it to someone you know who's alive right now, but come on. This is a dead nazi who thought advertising eugenicist murder and warfare were awesome. This man looks like he cheered when people like himself were killed, because he did.

Maybe I'm tripping but Goebbels wife wasn't posthumously found to be Jewish? I remember reading that somewhere years ago

26

u/Koekoes_se_makranka 6d ago

She had a Jewish stepfather and there is some highly credible research to suggest that he may have been her biological father. Interestingly, in her teen years, Magda Goebbels briefly had a relationship with a Jewish guy named Haim Arlosoroff as well, and she even learnt Hebrew and wore a Star of David necklace he had gifted her

3

u/Mnementh47 4d ago

And then Arlozorov was murdered in still unresolved circumstances.

Context
The selected images show Nazi propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels photographed by Alfred Eisenstaedt at the Carlton Hotel in Geneva, Switzerland, during the League of Nations conference in September 1933. [1, 2]

Key Details of the Photographs
The Photographer: Alfred Eisenstaedt, a pioneering photojournalist who was Jewish, captured these portraits while on assignment. [1, 2]

The Shift in Expression: Eisenstaedt recounted that Goebbels was initially smiling at someone off-camera, but his expression drastically shifted to a hostile glare the moment he noticed Eisenstaedt. [1]

The Accompanying Figures: In the right-hand frame standing behind Goebbels are his private secretary, Walter Naumann (with the goatee), and Hitler's interpreter, Dr. Paul Schmidt. [1]

1

u/RaulTheCruel 3d ago

What happened to the photographer?

2

u/Few_Dot6881 3d ago

Nothing. The whole story is fabricated. There is no evidence whatsoever that Goebbels was told "the photographer is Jewish".

According to the photographer himself, Goebbels got pissed when he saw the camera. No evidence of anyone telling/whispering anything to him.

The person beside him is clearly discussing or looking at whatever is on the sheet of paper, not focused at all on the photographer.

The more likely explanation is that Goebbels saw the press in general as hostile and as an enemy.

1

u/RaulTheCruel 3d ago

Thank you! I’ve read this fabrication multiple times, so that’s a really helpful clarification.

Here are two sources establishing the baseline of the story, one of them being the publishing company he worked for 80 years before.

Some of Donald trumps grandkids are Jewish and he is a big supporter of Israel. This comment makes no sense

Maybe but why are we pretending Trump gives a fuck about his grandkids?

He only seems to like one of his immediate children and that’s because he wants to fuck her.

Yes and I'm sure that means that Donald Trump does not hate Jewish people

Man is there a singularly more reposting pair of images in existence. We know, dawg.

This is such a fake news being reposted ad nauseam for the cheapest karma farming possible by multiplying a mythology.

Do you think it was that simple and black and white, so easy to discern? So Goebbels supposedly learned the photograph was Jewish and he produced that scorn as though unable to hide his visceral hatred.

This is the easy misinterpretation that doesn't help understanding anti-Semitism and the Holocaust at all. In such a context, it's very hard to believe that you could just find out about someone as usual as a photographer that he was Jewish and if you did, you'd react in that way, even if you were a Nazi, because it was useless.

By the way, did you know Hitler's chauffeur was Jewish and he protected him dearly, thinking of him a noble Jew?

Please, stop with the hypersentimental takes influenced by Schindler's List and other instances of emotional terroism. It's bad and false.
