If you don't want moderation, Reddit is not the appropriate platform for you.

gosh, I'm so sorry-- I was not meaning to break rules, it's just people could not read the links I shared! that's all - I won't ask these types of things here anymore

I don't know if you broke any rules or not, and nobody is upset about your question.

That being said, Reddit, as a platform, is designed for moderation, which means if you aren't interested in moderating, Reddit is the wrong platform for your wants/needs.

Every subreddit *must* have at least one mod. Reddit will deactivate the subreddit if no mod.

That's the rules here.

It doesn't sound like the issue you are having has anything to do with whether there's a mod. Every single subreddit has a mod, and posts show up (from the mod and from others).

r/NewMods is the place you want to ask these questions. Good luck!

(I have a mostly inactive subreddit that I'm practice-modding on, my posts and comments show, as do the posts and comments of the 2-3 people who've stopped by).

Hi /u/Downtown-School-629, please see our Intro & Rules. We are volunteer-run, not managed by Reddit staff/admin. Volunteer mods' powers are limited to groups they mod. Automated responses are compiled from answers given by fellow volunteer mod helpers. Moderation works best on a cache-cleared desktop/laptop browser.

Resources for mods are: (1) r/modguide's Very Helpful Index by fellow moderators on How-To-Do-Things, (2) Mod Help Center, (3) r/automoderator's Wiki and Library of Common Rules. Many Mod Resources are in the sidebar and >>this FAQ wiki<<. Please search this subreddit as well. Thanks!

Found regex match: attacking our group

It looks like you're asking about brigading. Brigading is when a group of users, generally outsiders to the targeted subreddit, "invade" a specific subreddit and flood it with posts, comments or downvotes, in order to troll, manipulate, or interfere with the targeted community. Your subreddit could be flooded by spam posts.

There are certain measures that can be taken, based on previous answers by our helpers. FOR INFO ON: # how to set up your subreddit to combat brigading, including # downvote-brigading, please click here.

Subreddit settings work best in a cache-cleared desktop browser. (Limited option: mobile browser on desktop view.)

If you found your answer, feel free to reply with "<3 Automod" or "Thanks, Automod". Otherwise wait for a human helper to come along to help you. This post has NOT been removed.
