Thranduil, the Elvenking and Artificial Evolution
If using Ashes of the Fallen naming Elf, and having a card like Indulgent Aristocrat in the graveyard could I then use Artificial Evolution changing Vampire into Elf. I am trying to make a goofy Thranduil, the Elvenking deck.

The "Vampire" on the ability Thranduil gains this way won't change to "Elf". This is because ability-adding effects are layered "after" text-changing effects (C.R. 613.1, 613.1c, 613.1f).

That won't work.
Evolution's Text-changing effect applies in Layer 3.
Thranduil won't get the Granted Ability until Layer 6.
Thus, the ability gained from Aristrocrat won't be affected by Evolution.
Though, you could Evolution Thranduil to change Elf to Vampire.
(You could also have Ashes name Vampire... Or, not bother with it.)
