Our beautiful boy was brought to us by the cat distribution system one year ago now! Neither of us had ever had a cat before, and he came to us sickly and severely malnourished. The emergency vet didn’t think he’d survive, and that if he did he’d be blind. Today he is in perfect health and he has near perfect eyesight.

We are so grateful for our boy who we consider our “beginning”. He has taught us so much about unconditional love, strength, curiosity, and perseverance (though that trait sometimes gets him in trouble when he is trying to get into somewhere he shouldn’t be 😂). We love him beyond words, and thank you to this beautiful community for letting us share our baby boy RP with you all! 🩶🩶🩶

I told my family but they don’t get it. I knew you all would. Normally when I get in bed he climbs in and plops down next to my feet, but last week he crawled up next to me and snuggled up in little spoon position. He’s done it every night since. Eeeeeee!!!!

Well Éowyn (the cat who was eating her litter) had a second blood panel recheck on Friday. Unfortunately her platelet count decreased. We are increasing the steroid and adding an immunosuppressant drug to help. If this doesn’t help or she keeps seesawing, we will be referred to a specialist.

This really sucks. It’s getting extremely expensive, plus it’s going to require ongoing care. There has just been one thing after the other for me this year, and I am very overwhelmed. I honestly don’t know how I’m going to afford all of this. I’ve applied for a second job, I even applied for another main job. But prices for everything are going up and my pay has basically been cut (job supplied insurance costs have more than doubled for me), and I’m really struggling. I don’t have much else to cut or trim from the budget. It’s just extremely stressful.

And no, I don’t want or need advice about how to make my budget go further. I used to be a social worker, I know about all of that and social programs that help people. It’s just tough out here. I’ll figure it out somehow.

Hi everyone! I’m just hopping on to ask for some advice for my 7 month old Nebelung Smokie. We adopted him back in March and the shelter told us that he was brought in by himself with no mother or siblings. Over the few months we’ve had him, we’ve noticed that he loves picking fights with our older cats. Our other 2 cats have no issues with him, it’s just that Smokie goes and tries to play with them constantly and they get annoyed by it. Their fights end up being really intense but there’s no fur flying or any visible injuries. He also attacks us when we try to pet or pick him up. We do our best to play with him often and redirect excess energy with toys. Despite this, he still attacks us and our other kitties. I was hoping that he’d learn some “cat manners” by being raised with 2 others but that doesn’t seem to be the case. We have no intention of abandoning him so I guess I’m just here asking for some tips and tricks you guys learned with your fur babies. Thank you!

I just wanted to show you my cats, Zeus and Dusty. They're siblings and were born under my bed. We shouldn't given them twin names but both answer to "buddy" and "floofy pants".

Zeus is a bold, loud, insistent, he plays too hard, and he screams at doors when the person he wants is behind them. He likes being held like a teddy at night/nap times, and he bullies me into taking my meds at night. He begs for my food by presenting himself as a Renaissance painting, and he loves when we acknowledge his cute fangs or squish his cheeks.

Dusty is hiding under the couch because you are perceiving her. But for the people she's used to, she's bratty levels of demanding. Softest creature I've ever touched. She wants to lay on my chest and throw her head back into my face so I'll give her kisses. She lives on my girlfriend's lap and has the tiniest saddest most pitiful mew.
